Far too heavy for a oneshot

Coming into this as an Adachi fan (with next to no knowledge of Buronson or Hokuto no Ken), I was happy to find that the art was still in Adachi's classic style. The story, however, didn't have the charm of an Adachi work (understandable, since the author was Buronson, but still jarring). It was far too fast paced, as Sosseres mentioned, and far too sketchy. As a longer story developed over at least one volume, it might have worked - enough time to flesh out the characters and their relationships before the sudden turn downhill. As it is, however, I at least was left with only an overwhelming sense of '...what'.
Good, but...

I came into this with high expectations. That is why it feels worse than it really is when I finished reading it.
The art is your standard wonderful Adachi art.
The story is decent, but way to fast paced to be fun to read. It moves from one thing to another to directly.
The characters get almost no room for development, you never really get to care about them.
Everything is nicely done, but I just don't care for it. Enjoyment was low, but the other parts were solid, thus the relatively high objective score.
