I'm really surprised that we never used this as a poll before. Well, our member ChocoKun finally suggested it. No forum thread this time.

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related):
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Ever tried to create the food shown in manga?
Choices:
Yes, and I was pleased with the results! - votes: 1907 (20.1%)
Yes, but never again. I'm not the chef type - votes: 795 (8.4%)
Nope, I'd rather have someone else cook my food - votes: 4790 (50.5%)
No, but my manga tends to feature knuckle sandwiches - votes: 1997 (21%)
There were 9489 total votes.
The poll ended: July 23rd 2011

Apparently most of us don't cook often. I have to admit that I like the "knuckle sandwich" option though...

Not too surprised by the results either considering scanlation readers tend to be literate.

Some dubs I watch by habit, as I saw them in English first. But if I have a choice, I stick with sub... again, out of habit. I've seen so many subbed anime, so it just feels weird if I try to start a new anime dubbed. Though terribly dubbed older anime are fantastic to watch with a group of friends. It's just too funny.

There's already a thread with a poll for this question...

The result will be obvious, if you check the poll now. But yeah, dubs are most of the time failures, because the video itself will be manipulated, cutted or extended so that the longer or shorter sentences fits in. Translations have never( if the languages aren't similar) the same sentence structure or length as the original, if the video isn't forged then the structure goes out of order .

both are fine with me. I don't speak Japanese so i can't multitask with subs. Corny lines are better in japanese though because saying them in english gives me second hand embarrassment.

Oh and I can't switch from subs to dubs but i can do dubs to subs.

There are some good dubs that I enjoy, but usually I lean towards subs. Usually the dubs are pretty bad with a few exceptions.

i like them both but subs are better. the ai yori aoshi dub was terrible i must say. but pokemon and dragon ball z dubs are the best. again it is about which one i tried first. when you first seen the subbed version it's hard to watch the dub unless it's really good. i think all the dubbed shows in animax channel are good. but when i download i always tries to download the subbed version of a new anime.

but only if it's done right. When it is, it makes it amazing... but when it's not, it makes the series almost un-watchable.

I'm a reader so I prefer sub, even if I can understand the language spoken.

both being equal is getting a lot more than i would have thought. subs winning is no surprise though but it could be higher

Sub FTW!
I really like the japanese seiyuu. their voices is just like they are completely become the character. while some dubber can't do it...
and the most horrible thing of dubbing is when there's a song... and the dubber can't sing... at all... :fail:

You didn't include an option for people who know Japanese so don't want subs or dubs. There may be few of us, but we exist...
