Why was the Ecchi tag removed from Fairy Tail? There is more than enough things in this manga to get it one :/
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I'm kinda new in here.

Someone complained about One Piece not having an ecchi tag, so Fairy Tail shouldn't have one either.

Well One Piece being "ecchi" is both hit and miss seeing that its mostly just fanservice and a rare one at that though recently or after the time skip it has been showing a lot of fanservice. Fairy Tail on the other hand follows a simple logic....female in the chapter? FANSERVICE, that is basically what I get from reading it.

Fairy Tail and One Piece are obviously by 2 different authors even if the art work is similar and familiar, and I don't think the two should be mixed up together even if people are complaining. There is Ecchi in Fairy Tail, however like someone later posted in One Piece the ecchi is Hit & Miss while there is Ecchi only sometimes more rarely. But in Fairy Tail they can't go a few Chapters without showing something Ecchi, so the two certainly should not be mixed up and both should equally have both their own rights even if people complain about it, out of respect for the actual Genres and for people who are actually trying to search for things all in all. Unless hundreds and thousands are complaining then it makes no difference, since it truly deserves to have the Ecchi genre if that makes since to you.

Thank you for reading,

FT's ecchi scenes are of a light caliber - everything is always covered up. It's nothing like, for example, To Love-Ru. IMO, putting them in the same category would be wrong.

You can probably find ass shots or panty shots etc in every chapter of fairy tail, one piece does not.
I still think FT should have the ecchi tag.
If you need evidence, i can find plenty.

Just because FTs ecchi is lighter than others does not mean it does not deserve one.

FT is most certainly not of the light caliber and comparing it to To Love-Ru is certainly not fair seeing as To Love-Ru is and has been presented as an ecchi manga, though it is on the heavy side of being ecchi. In my opinion FT most certainly does deserve the ecchi tag whilst One Piece could be debated to a heavy extent since it does not rely on ecchi but it does give fanservices here and there it isn't enough to justify the tag.

This is really debatable, you can say there are scenes on FT that qualify as ecchi, but mostly it's just the normal Shonen Manga dosage imo, even if it might not be everybody cup of tea (not mine, for example), it is clearly pocket change compared to manga that can be said to turn around the ecchi content.

To be honest I think it's better not to label as ecchi manga that might have Fanservice but that can be read by a non-ecchi fan.

Look at Asu no Yoichi! for example on a real ecchi manga, I originally tough the premise could be interesting (although it sounded like a Ranma 1/2 rip-off Minus Gender Bender) but it come to be un-readable for me due to all the ecchi scenes.

Sorry but Asu no Yoichi has even less fanservice/ecchi scenes then Fairy Tail so I do not see your point there and lets see other normal shonen manga such as Bleach, Beelzebub, Naruto, One Piece, Toriko to name a few, these shonen manga do not have many fanservices if any, the only ones that do have any are One Piece and Beelzebub but those are minimal.

I find almost none of it erotic at all. It's all just outlines. No nipple outlines, even through the swimsuits.
The "naked" characters look more or less like barbie dolls - would you categorize them ecchi too? ^^

I would tag the series as having fanservice, but I still wouldn't really call it ecchi.

I mean, okay - technically, it does fall under ecchi, but ecchi is the last thing that comes to my mind when I think "Fairy Tail".
If someone were to ask me when genre FT is, I would not say ecchi. Or I would mention it at the very end, e.g.:
"Fairy Tail is a shounen adventure fantasy series, with a lot of action, a fair dose of comedy and drama and a bit of ecchi." ... No, I would probably say "fanservice", not "ecchi".

ecchi
Web definitions
erotic, lascivious, lewd, naughty, sexy, suggestive.

fanservice
In terms of Anime, the least extreme form of nudity or sexually based angles. This may include panty shots, minor nudity, underwear shots, bouncing breasts and other such things added solely for comic effect or pleasuring perverted fans.

Fits the above category no matter how I look at it.

So.... you are saying Fairy Tail falls under ecchi and has a little bit of ecchi, but should not have the ecchi tag? Isn't that contradictory?

Even the definition in mangaupdates for ecchi is
"Possibly the line between hentai and non-hentai, ecchi usually refers to fanservice put in to attract a certain group of fans."
Could be a line between hentai and non-hentai and can usually refer to fanservice.

@Super Gotenks
Thank you. I hope it won't be removed again.

No, I'm saying that technically it falls under that category, since there is a bit of fanservice in it, but that I wouldn't categorize it as such.
For me, it's not the quantity of fanservice that determines ecchi, it's the quality - and FT has, IMO, very a mild fanservice.
