I dread manga who are going to be turned into anime. >_> If it does, it'll just turn into another Rosario+Vampire, I guess.

It sells quite well. Anime have been made of much less popular series in the past, in any case.

Actually, with a sellable story like that, it's only a matter of time.

But they'll need more content first, especially if they want to make this a long-running one. From the content perspective, it's harder to create filler episodes for this than it would be for Naruto/Bleach/etc. and I'm sure whoever wants to have this made considered it.

just take the case of Death Note
really popular manga and only got an anime after the manga was finished

i hope they make an anime, if it turns bad, i'll just keep reading the manga

Fillers are only really an issue with shounen epics and comedy. Even if this were to get an anime, it would likely be neither of those.

I sincerely doubt it though. It's a decent manga, but it doesn't really need an anime adaptation, and even if it had one, I doubt it would be very good. The problem lies in the fact that in order to fill the time necessary for an episode most of the fight scenes would have to be elongated, and honestly there's not really enough material to do that. The characters are largely unskilled (there are three exceptions to this, combat-wise anyway) and there are no supernatural influences, which would either make the fight scenes unrealistic or very, very boring. The thing that makes this manga so appealing is the relative level of realism its approached with, rather than just giving in to fantasy entirely. An anime adaptation would be forced to lose that.

its quite possible to make a 100% adaptation of any manga
its not that hard to fit small chapters into episodes. and for long chapters, you can always make OVA with longer episodes. im talking about starting in the beginning of a chapter and ending at end of one, because that way, the clifhangers can be mantained and the episodes dont end abruptly

why would it have to lose its realism or change the story into something more fantasy like? you can make an anime for whatever genre, just like a movie

I'll concede the Monster-style adaptation point. If it were made to be exactly accurate, then yes, it would probably work, although that depends on several other factors as well (just as it does with any adaptation).

Yes, you can make an anime or a movie for any genre. My point was more that if you have a manga like this that has quite a few action scenes, but with most of the characters flailing around it probably won't be very entertaining to watch. With action shows the visuals are largely what keep them afloat, and while this is a bit more plot-based than is typical of the genre, there would be a lot of difficulties with making it flow correctly. It could be done, but it's slightly impractical, especially with something that has a smaller following. This is the kind of thing I'd love to be proven wrong about though.

ye, i understand, i know it can be done wrong. first they have to make the decision to follow the manga closely and then the director and all other envolved wound need to do a good job. just like cinema, just a difent director, can turn one movie from to crap to excelent

there's a lot of poor adaptations and badly done anime out there that prove your point
i just hope it doesnt happen in case this one is adpated

Considering how they've been extra-ecchifying a great deal of manga to anime lately, I really wouldn't be surprised. It seems like that genre seems to have a large audience. If it was based on the story alone I'd say that it probably wouldn't become an anime. Granted I haven't caught up to recent chapters yet.

(And yes I'm a fan of HotD, but it's something I don't really get that into. Its more of a fun little read.)
