Is it only me, or does it really feel like it's going to end very soon?

It escalated rather quickly, and feels rushed, I mean... not counting the introduction, we are now at what... second story arc?

Do you think it's getting axed?

Yeah, this is probably ending in the next 2 issues. I am a little behind on the releases so I'm merely basing this on its rankings. It pretty much never left the bottom 5 rankings excluding maybe its first week. Couple this with the fact that two new series are starting in the next 2 issues (when a new series starts another has to end) and it's very likely that this will be axed.

If they're axing two series, it'll be this and I think Illegal rare since they're usually the worst ranked.

iirc Illegal Rare has actually pushed out of the bottom and is not in danger anymore;

but yeah this is over, its essentially confirmed at this point

It might still be in danger.
They're not deciding on which series to axe right when it happens, they need to inform authors at least couple of weeks before, so they'll have a chance at giving a 'proper' ending to their series.

But anyway, it is decided beforehand, so even if, by the end it will have amazing rankings, the axe is already set, and it probably will not change.

I didn't read Illegal Rare yet, so I don't know.
I guess it all depends on the date when axe was set in place, and if that series pushed out of the bottom before or after it.

I don't believe so. It may not be dead last (spot is usually taken by SS, now that that's out...) but is persistently in the bottom 5.
Check the past 5 rankings (counting from below obviously):
-1st
-3rd (SS and Kochikame below it, and let's face it, Kochikame isn't getting axed)
-3rd (SS and Ishoujo below it, they've both been axed or moved)
-6th (best in a while but check the series that landed below it: Kochikame [def. not getting axed], Hunter x Hunter [def. not getting axed], Ishoujo, Soul Catcher, SS - these 3 have all been axed or moved)
-2nd (SS below it)

Honestly I don't see how you can say it's not in danger anymore. Next week another series will start. If they end another series because of it, it will be undoubtedly Illegal Rare - the only series with worse ranking are long-runners (that don't get axed this simply) or have already been thrown out. There's literally nothing else that could be cut right now. The only chance for fans of the series is to pray that they decide they don't need to axe another series right now and that 3 of the more recent series turn out to be big failures.
