ok, so now I'm looking for a tragic romance to read, and I'm not really picky on the genre. Perhaps a story where the main couple have to overcome a ton of obstacles or even have to struggle to keep an already existing relationship going. I'm in the mood for a real tearjerker, so I'm up for almost any type of tragic romance suggestion.
I've read bitter virgin, Basilisk, Vampire knight (to a certain extent). Mars, let dai and snow drop.
I'm pretty sure I've read more than that but the names escape me, so again any suggestions... particularly romances that make you ball your eyes out... would be much appreciated.

Try the anime version of Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, since the manga and novel are untranslated. Quite good. 5cm/second is also a good choice, although it's an anime movie.

Gunslinger Girl only in part
Hantsuki anime is a masterpiece. Another good tragic romance anime is Ginban Kaleidoscope.

I totally second Mucha Kucha Daisuki. Also Lady Georgie is one hell of a tear-jerker (first manga I actually cried while reading it... and cry every time I reread it!)

I also like that kind of manga. Mars is my favourite manga, and Let Dai my favourite manhwa. I also liked Bitter Virgin
I would highly recommend:
Cat Street
Tenshi no Uta
I second Lady Georgie (though I don't know if you like historical manga)

Deep Love - Ayu no Monogatari. I really loved this story, very good.
Phalene. Short one shot, very good.
Omae ga Sekai wo Kowashitai nara <3 very good. Vampire romance that ends in tragedy.
Good-bye, My 19 year Old Self Boy in love with his brothers girlfriend. Not too tragic, but good.
Die Very tragic and dark. Really dark.
