You know, there are manga that aren't action-shounen...

C'mon!! Leave the kid alone(12 years old).... She just introduced herself in another thread. You wouldn't wanna scare people away, would you.
smile wink grin

Take it easy, TriggerHappy100. cool If you have any problems, Gan17 Oji-san and Bedob will save you! HeHe.

I think I might know pedobear's secret identity, now...
But no matter. I'm just saying that she might want to make full use of this site to discover some new favorites. It's here to provide information, after all. I'm not insulting her taste, on purpose, anyway.

U mean the kid and the pedo are the same person?.... damn.

Yes. That's exactly what I mean.

Wow!! Brings a totally new meaning to "wanting to screw oneself".... but let's just give them the benefit of the doubt for now, eh.

In no specific order:

- Bloody Monday: It's a suspense thriller with a deep plot. And the mind games in the book WILL get you addicted. Do check it out!

- Needless: Probably the best fighting manga I've ever read. The art quality is of excellence too.

- Mx0: Comedy, love, and fighting with magic in a magic school. And oh, the hero of the story doesn't have magic! So how does he fight? biggrin

Ahh I only have top three bigrazz

It's tough to decide, but roughly, this is my list:

1. Eyeshield 21 - The best sports manga I've read ever, which IMO even defeats Inoue sensei's Slam Dunk. It combines the right amount of action and comedy, with hints of romance. The explanations for the tecnical terms in the sport is clear and interesting. The characters have all developed significantly from the first time they were introduced. All in all a must read!

2. Kare Kano - An excellent shoujo manga. You could feel the internal and external conflicts faced by the characters, who are all very believable as the complexity of their personalities makes them seem like people that you could meet in real life. They are shown to have grown considerably, especially the main character, Arima. One could describe it as a lighter and less twisted version of Nana. Another must read.

3. FAKE - A yaoi series. It is mainly about two detectives from the NYPD, where one of the detectives show considerable interest in the other. The series consists of a string of cases which gradually develop the relationship between the two. There are a lot of humour and some doses of angst, as well as violence. If you, like me, prefer a yaoi manga with less craziness and twisted character background than Gravitation, then this is the series for you.

4. Pet Shop of Horrors - A manga series about exotic pets (and in some cases, mythical creatures) and the two main characters, Count D, the pet shop owner, and Detective Leon Orcot, a LAPD detective. The series not only tells of the growing friendship between the two, but also several thought-provoking issues such the difficulty in keeping the laws of nature and protecting humanity, and the endless of cycle of life and death. With such deep issues, and a healthy dose of humour, who can resist reading the manga until the end?

5. Vampire Knight - Alright, I have a confession to make. Initially, I read this manga for its bishie goodness (Zero!!! *__*), but as I keep reading it, I find that it is not just a typical shoujo manga. Like all manga in this genre, the main characters are involved in a love triangle, but the circumstances surrounding it, as well as the dark past of the characters, make this an interesting read. The art is also gorgeous, the characters are drawn beautifully, especially the vampires, with painstaking attention paid to minute details. For those who likes angsty, suspense-filled and action-packed vampire manga as opposed to the comedy Rosario + Vampire and Chibi Vampire Karin, you should give this manga a try.
