I admit, I find this manga hilarious. Although, it reminds me alot of Love Hina (In terms of how the main character looks, and how hes always in awkward type situations).

I hope the manga continues to get released on a good basis. I'm sure its not as popular as, say, Naruto, so I don't expect a weekly release. A couple chapters a month would suit me just fine.

In regards to the anime, I hope it remains faithful as long as it can. I'm not expecting it to be complete, as the manga isn't finished.

Oh, and in the future, when I have children, I just KNOW I will be like Reiji. I'll wanna run around and yell 'SHE'S SO CUTE!!!". biggrin

I'm going to be a horribly doting father, I just know it. BUT, thats a ways away. For now, i'll just remain your average normal Otaku.

Wow, I rambled on there in the end..........

Like Reiji?
Since this post was wrriten a while ago, it's understandable, I really liked Reiji..
But now..
Spoiler (highlight to view)
He has different feelings for Rin than just a parent, tottaly wrong onces.. It's sad that his love died, but come on..

So.. maybe you should edit the post, cause that just seems wrong.. none

I love "Kodomo no Jikan" really good funny/dramatic stuff

If it was up to me I wouldnt leave Rin with Reiji,
Spoiler (highlight to view)
you have all seen that she has those kiss marks and that he even sleeps with her (not sex, but you know what I mean)
and if she is left with Aoi maybe since she lost Reiji she will develop a larger crush on him and he will crack under the pressure, there are so many options now
Spoiler (highlight to view)
that her fathers come into the play
, a great comedy manga, and fairly psychological too

Yeah, this manga has taken a disturbing turn and I get the feeling that Aoki-sensei won't be able to do much with the current events in the latest chapter. The person I feel most sorry for is Rin-chan because well, it's been a roller coaster for her and at such a young age to boot. I'm really interested in seeing how Rin-chan grows up with all this happening in her life seeing how she can be really messed up as a teen and beyond.

Someone mentioned before about the third graders in Kodomo being the way they are, I wouldn't really be surprised, in my Elementary school in fourth grade, kids were freaking perverted...yeesh. I think the OAV and tv anime were okay, I haven't read the manga yet though, according to what I've read so far the manga isn't over yet and there's more to this series than what I saw in the anime, correct?

New here and 1st post after lurking...

Just my opinion... I love the series, but there has been a LOT of uproar about it promoting sexual child abuse (by the "right" minded folks here in the USA and other countries), but what they are missing is the abuse to Reiji by his parents and the result of it.

I see that Reiji wants to prove that he is not like his parents and he is not, but he is doing another form of abuse (not necessarily sexual) and his actions are a direct result of what happened to him. Going from a extreme situation to another one. He differently needs to seek help and Rin, so far is handling it well I 'think' by HER choices concerning her teacher (to balance Reiji).

The folks complaining about the story don't want to see it because it strikes to close to home in todays world, like Bitter Virgin does. It is a topic that is "not talked about".

In all, the story, like Bitter Virgin, shows REAL life and we all know how the "moral" folks think about that!

Little p.s. Folks should remember that 3rd year in Japan is NOT the same as 3rd year here. The world does not revolve around the USA as they think...

p.s.s. My daughter's psych class in college is actually using both Kodomo no Jikan AND Bitter Virgin to examine the different forms of abuse by parents and the results since they are so well described and the results on the victims and the folks they interact with.

(Now I will go back to lurking... )

I think you're misusing the phrase "too close to home". This phrase means that something makes a person uncomfortable because it closely mirrors their own life, or that of a close family member. Not that it touches upon deeply rooted societal views and opinions.

No, I'm not actually refuting any part of your post. Just thought you ought to know, for future conversations.

This manga is really unique. It really got on my nerve. Now I am looking forward to next release. But why a good manga like this is only monthly?? Why can't they make it weekly or twice a week??

Mangaka, make reiji realize his place. Why did he bcame like this?? He was such a wonderful father like figure... I just want this situation to end fast. I dont like it when simple and good mangas like this bcomes this complicated.

Dammit!!! "wat'll happen nxt?? wat'll happen next??" is eating me from inside. I need to read or watch something or else i am done for.....

To answer your first question, it does not come out weekly because it is in a monthly magazine. It comes out on the 22nd I think, or somewhere around that time.

The mangaka is watashiya kaworu 私屋カヲル, and I am sure she will either make reiji realize what he is doing, or she will just let rin and daisuke get married,
biggrin Just kidding, but whatever happens, I am sure it will be splendid, I heard somewhere miss watashiya likes doing short manga, I think she rarely goes past 5 tankobons, but lets hope she breaks the mold, and makes the story longer!

@jigenbakuda

It doesn't matters if its a long manga as long as this complex situation ends. I hate this kind of complicated situation. I like the way it was in the begining, short parts of main plot. Each of them ended in one or two chapter. there was no complications only simple stories of everyday life. I hope complications end in next 2 chapters and it bcomes like it was b4.

I agree about marriage. Daisuke and Reiji both are unsuitable for Rin. I think in the end rin will find a boyfriend And Daisuke and Reiji will become a father like figure.

i found it quite interesting, i mean even if the girls are precocious it's quite clear they are still little girls. Even if the teacher is developing feelings towards Rin i think he will wait for her, doing the oposite of what Reiji is doing.
Between all the cliched manga i found it refreshing and interesting.

It was probably me spewing loli filth left and right. Oh yea pedobear, love the guy, lol. So many re-incarnations, kero (cardcaptor sakura), kon (bleach), and good ole rin's smut bear, getting abused by naughty little girls since forever, lol.

@Riffz
Sorry for my late reply.... Well anyways I guess I kinda like the complicated story. Well this story is largely about psychology, so I feel if it was more simple it would not be as good. Right now so many of the other character's motivations are being revealed.

No way it will be stopped by next month (complex plot). You are in for one complex ride. seeing as rin did what she did, and aoki said what he said... Its just the beginning. Reiji is losing control, he can not even wait 9 years anymore (plus he is a lonely b-ster) man... the story is getting all kinds of stuff thrown in. I feel we will learn a lot more about the thought processes of rin before the story gets simpler or ends. Plus all the "little" stories (short slice of life/school chapters) were just showing rin and aoki getting closer. Now that they are close and you know the characters it is getting complex...

Do you really dislike the complexity so much? I love it it gives much more to discuss.

@jigenbakuda

Sorry for late reply.
Well its not like i dont like complex stories. But here the problem is I have to wait 1 month for one chapter. Which is painful. I like complex stories when I know that I can read the end I dont have wait for release.
Anyway I have decided to not read this manga for next 1 year. Then gonna read 12 chapters all together. biggrin

By the way have u read the latest chap?? Rin decided to marry Renji. NANDA KOREAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

I have no idea, how you're going to survive that long confused

I myself can barely wait a month, let alone 12 dead
