to talk about the bomb first truman had to bomb cause if they invaded more casualties for both japan and the U.S. so he used the bomb as a way to end it with less casualties..if the axis owned the allies i dont think anything would have happened in the western part of the world but in europe and asia japan and germany would be running it..and probably a lot less jews in europe....and i thought japanese did pwn pearl harbor confused
They did pwn Pearl Harbor, but eventually the Japanese that attacked got killed. >_> So really, was damaging their marine shit worth getting the most powerful country included in the war? And not that, but on the Allies side. So US pwned them not once, but TWICE with the bombs. Pretty epic. [again, I'm kidding]

I was looking at WWII statistics yesterday... damn, 50-70 million. x__x; That was like, almost 4% of the world population.

Doesn't seem like a lot, but when you think about it... it's a fuckload of people. Dx

regarding hitler - never would have been a problem if that stupid art school had just accepted him

I second this. XD Screw that, I blame his stupid niece. ;__; Why do stupid decisions by one person have to change the ENTIRE world? T__T;

WWII was an epic loss for the Axis(i think their name was, its been a bit since i learned about ww2) i think that if they went about it differently they could have actually came out on top, don't get me wrong, i don't support them in the least for what they did to people and such, but it all seems like shoty planning to me.

How would the middle east have less conflict? that has been there since biblical times

Really? They are just doing what we westerners had done for thousands of years before.

All of you need to remember that the firebombing campaign killed 50 to 90% of the poplulation of 67 major japanese cities making the atomic bombs a drop in the barrel.
Theres a absolutely fantastic documentary on this (well on Robert Mcnamara) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzUStZaTGAQ

I'm for the bomings. It was a horrible waste of life and it was mostly civilians that died but it ended the war. I'm Australian, Japan was on our doorstep and bombing our north coast to pieces. We currently have a population of 21million, It was much less back then. The US and England had pratically pulled out of the pacific. You know what our plan was? If they ever got a foothold pull back and try to defend the major cities on the east coast, Defend nothing else. We would have been overtaken for sure.
Those bombs saved us from being completly over taken. And while I regret they had to be used, I conceed they are what ended the war.

That is not possible. If we assume the whole human nature suddenly turned peaceful, then maybe. But in that case, we would be a peaceful civilization who probably already solved world hunger, and invented space travel engines.

You're saying wars are good just to kill off some people? xD But it is true that suddenly after WWII there was a huge increase in population. Probably because the oppresion was over, and they wanted to 'celebrate' it with new life.

New life stands for a new beginning~ =D

But following your logic, this implies the Holocaust acutally helped the Earth by killing millions of innocents?

I think there is a less extreme way to Decrease the population. Birth Control for one. And maybe a one or two child policy like how China have it.

No, where did I say that? >.< I said to Nisseman that that wasn't the way.

I only stated a fact that there was an increase of population after WWII, because one of the conditions of having a baby is security in their future as a family, which was obviously lacking under the Iron Fist of the German Empire~

So, what I'm trying to say is that it isn't good at all to kill some innocents(well no one is really innocent, but you get the point) with war just because it's getting overpopulated.

I didn't say you mean war is good in your comment. I just said 'following your logic'. It's an indirect assumption from your statement.
