I'd have to agree it would be useful for me--especially if we could choose not to show any series that are on the blacklist when we're looking at the series info list or the releases list. At first I was doubtful, but after thinking it over, I recognized that there are several prominent benefits, and I ended up making a "never going to read" custom list for myself. It's coming along nicely and has been quite enjoyable to make. Thing is, I can't make it public, otherwise the genres in it will count towards the genres I like in my profile, and it'll say I like yaoi and hentai the most (I can't stand the stuff, by the way)... but I digress.
So anyway, some benefits are the following:
- There are a lot (and I mean over eleven thousand... yes, I am counting) of series that I will never ever read. How could I possibly remember them all without a list? And having the icons next to the name (the blue circle would do fine) would save me the trouble of having to look up each series on my list, or having to click on it to check. Better yet would be to be able to disclude them altogether--simply "scrolling past" is quite a chore and wastes time when there are so many that I want to avoid.
- There are genres that I mostly dislike, but that occasionally have some good stuff, so I don't want to block the whole genre. Being able to mark all the crappy stuff and disclude it saves a lot of searching time and space, while still allowing the rest of a genre to be listed.
- I know that some people look at others' lists to look for series to read, so in this case people could look at other members' blacklists to see what not to read.
