Yay! even though i'm a girl i'm kinda bi so it's fun, it doesn't really turn me on or anything but i still enjoy it smile wink grin Also, some times i wish i could be like that, not a whore but just sexy.

And shonen does not have nearly enough fan service for it's female readers

Nay. Though I do like To-Love-Ru which is like, ecchi central. And I liked GTO which wasn't so much ecchi central but still. I hated Negima! and Love Hina though =/. And Soul Eater is pretty good too. I suppose I only like ecchi due to its comical nature.

Nay. It's annoying, it's like saying "I can't think of a story so here's some smut" it generally turns me off a series, there are exceptions but always makes the series seem kinda shallow to me. Especially if it's cliche, eg tripping and grabbing a boob, trip and panty shot >_>
(am a girl btw)

I definitely see what your saying, but that argument could be used for almost any genre, almost. So what your saying is right, but that what sets apart a bad manga from good. Any genre can be thrown in just for popularity, it has to be one right.

Nay. Panty shots and grabbing boobs are the usual jokes in ecchi. Most ecchi is not serious (to the point of being very annoying). Such jokes are really shallow, of bad tastes and over used. The creators don't know what real sense of humor is. Yet again, you rarely find real sense of humor in manga and anime. So I usually read serious manga.

I don't mind nudity/half-nudity that's done well. Isn't it weird that guys in shonen manga never get laid? There is no real sex but a lot of gross white cotton panty shots (it seems to be normal for Japanese men to have a panty fetish. That's really sad and I feel uncomfortable about men like that but that's just me) and sexual harassment (e.g. there is always a pervert who tries to grope women's breasts, etc.). Sexual harassment is a serious issue so I fail to see any humor in it.

And in seinen manga guys still don't get laid. There are just more panty shots, more huge breasts, more groping them and more guys like the one in Team Medical Dragon. If there is sex it is always rape. I don't get why ecchi fans are turned on by degrading women like that. Are they misogynists deep down? It must have something to do with the sexism in Japanese culture and that's really sad. Why don't they find it hotter to see proper consensual sex scenes (i.e. smut but smut hardly exists in shonen and seinen manga. That's really weird.)? Why don't they replace the panty shots with pictures of women in elegant lingerie, evening dresses or swimsuits? I know there are manga with tasteful ecchi and normal breast sizes but such manga are the minority. Normal breast size doesn't mean it's not pretty and sexy. But Japanese otaku just have a bad taste in what is pretty and sexy. Sigh... Most ecchi manga are full of the usual cheesy and unfunny stuff. I feel uncomfortable about it therefore I refuse to read ecchi and will be hesitant to socialize with someone who likes ecchi because our believes and values are so different.

To me smut is better since it doesn't degrade women like panty shots and sexual harassment. Well, we all know they ARE horny and why not let them get laid? But shonen and seinen manga don't have any. That's really weird.
