I guess it is possible...
I've seen a definate change in her artwork. It became a bit more shoujo-ish...
I read hot blooded woman (first few volumes) then her lastest one and there was quite a change..
but, she must be some superwoman to create so many manwha...

I think she uses a computer to do her art.
if you haven't noticed... her drawing is very perfect..
and on mangafox, they point out places she said mistakes.
like one time the guy was wearing the other guys shirt.

I think there group is like clamp.
its a large group.. like a movie set.

the cons of HMR is the characters in each series looking the same, even their characteristics:
the quiet sadist guy, and the badass girl
or
the hot rich kid, and the poor badass girl
or
the guy, and the bad ass girl

She couldn't have drawn them years before they were published because, assuming that she worked at a "normal" (ie. 20 pages a week) pace, it would still have taken her a long time to complete a single series. She would've had to draw them before she started work as a korean mangaka equivilent (don't know the name for them) because as somebody else said, it's almost impossible to turn out more than 20 pages a week. And, given that nearly all her works are published in the last 10 years, we can only assume she has not been employed by a publishing company for any less than that. So she must've had a normal job to get money, then drawn on the side lines...meaning that 20 pages is almost impossible?

The reason we haven't seen a picture is because she is so unhealthy that the publishing company is scared that there'll be sued for overworking her.

Yes. I find it amazingly CREEPY that any one person can draw so much. Not only numerous series, but many of those have around a dozen volumes, more or less. Even in 100 years, that does not seem possible.

There seems to be some sort of pattern with manhwa...

It seriously creeps me out, I'm not kidding >.>

Ok

925 volumes, with roughly are 190000 pages... more or less
40 years, with are 14606 days... more or less

with equal to 13.008352731754073668355470354649 pages a day with is completely possibl... wat?

THAT IS UNGODLY!!!

This woman must be a FREAK of nature, OR has been drawing non stop for her whole life... a cheese vampire obsessed with a Delinquent lover?

Hwang-Mi Ri is probably a brand name that the company uses to crank out those series, just like publishing companies like Harlequin use a single name to crank out pulp romance novels that are actually written by several different people.

That sounds very plausible, actually. Or that many multiple assitants/artists work on most of the pages, which are all released under her name.

It is worth noting that:
-Most of her volumes are actually very short
-The art is very, very simple
-Many of the characters are like copies of each other in appearance and personality
-And the plots are almost always the same

I believe that Hwang Mi Ri is some sort of alias for a manhwa company/organization.

If we consider that Shounen Jump series pump out 19 pages WEEKLY even with assistants and she is somehow releasing several VOLUMES weekly, even with assistants, that's physically impossible.

Then again, the art is pretty generic and bland. The plots are mostly copy and paste so I guess not much time is involved in either.

i heard that HAN Yu-Rang used to be her assistant
and her works are kinda similar

And she's also quite prolific....I mean a lot of her series are 10= volumes complete and are about 2-3 years apart....that's quite a lot....and I get these two artist confused maybe cus of their stories, even though I am enjoying My BF is a vampire for what its worth....

Considering how many series she's churned out and the kind of artwork i see now from her current works, it really looks like she doesn't give a damn about her artwork. > < Probably contributes a bit to quickly produced series.

laugh laugh
try to look for any information of HMR in google... even in her original language : Korea. I can't find her pic, less biography.
Does anyone here know how old is she??

Yep, I read 3 of her works, never know she wrote bunch!
My logic said that just like Tezuka Osamu, The God of Manga, she considered Goddess of Manhwa laugh coz may be there still a few of manhwaka in Korea. Less Rivalry. So she go through editing control easily.
Second, she published her own manga. Or own publisher company.

Here's how it's possible:

Step 1) Create two templates for a male and female lead (occasionally switching the genders so it feels different).

Step 2) Create two nearly-identical templates for a storyline. One about gangsters, the other about a girl thrown into any kind of situation (ie, cross-dressing; anything done a million times over in shoujo)

Step 3) Draw crappy and generic chapters all the time. Make sure all your characters look the same so it's nearly impossible to tell them apart.

Step 4) Pump out your manga like Danielle Steel.

Step 5) Make money off weeaboos and otakus that have no brains and who love a simple formula reused over and over.

And there you have it smile

She works hard, and that's to be respected, however I think it would be more fulfilling to produce a handful of stunning amazing and unique works that dozens of average, derivative ones.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of her work...
but I'd like to share a little fact that Hwang Mi Ri is most likely... maybe in her late 50's or early 60's right now. She wasn't young when she started drawing manhwa either.
I'm just guessing she had a lot of assistants to help her like every other mangaka or manhwa artist.
I'd also like to give the obvious answer that: She's human.
