Now's it's just my excuse to hastily read all of my series on OneManga before it poofs.
Though, I suppose when six or so months pass by without thinking of manga, more sites will be open and I'll rekindle a massive interest in catching myself up in a lot of (maybe) finished mangas. biggrin

MangaFox is not shutting down....we're very much alive...
and about the virus'...I've been on MF for 3+ years and never got a virus, plus there is a part of the forum where we can help you avoid these problems. (*gotomangafox*) biggrin

Plus...I think we definitely have more series....I would know 'cause I uploaded half of them smile

the whole subs/scanlation thing grew too big. nowadays we make a better job than the publishers themselves.
man japanese people who could just buy the thing across the street were starting to go scanlation/sub sites. if thats doesn't show that something is broken somewhere i don't know what does

what i mean is that for now, we cant just making professional like pages anymore
put the releases inside forums, hide them on irc or bit torrent and we will be fine

what worries me most is the whole lolicon scalation thing that started in the last years. if theres anything that can come like a rain of fire on us is that

no chances of mangaupdates closing right?? Cos it seems like with all the online reading sites closing we will need to go directly to scanlatorz website.

Don't worry, piracy will prevail.

Also, bah, online readers. Download from the scanlators, dammit.

Dammit, what the hell!
Instead of worrying about illegal online readers, the publishers should work on their business model.
It's outdated.

Usually I do, but some series I think aren't worth the time and effort to get.
Also, I'm in Indonesia right now in a net cafe, the only way to get my manga fix is online readers.

I just hope it stays that way, because mangafox is one of the best sites I know of, and you will hear no complaints from me eyes

I m feeling so sad right now. Because One Manga has pretty much been a part of my daily routine for the past 3 years and now I feel at an overwhelming loss. And by the looks of it, only MangaFox is left, which should be shutting down soon as well following the recent trend of clampind down on manga reading sites. This is a huge loss for me. I own over 500 mangas but I barely even touch them, they just lie there gathering dust which is only moved and cleaned abit when I add a new one to my collection but I do all my manga reading online

This is actually a last man standing situation. I'll be surprised if Mangafox goes down without a fight if the info about their hosts being in China is to be believed. If they hold fast now, they stand to make a killing either as the one source for scanlations or the next sellout/Crunchyroll-- if they don't become the next Piratebay first. dead

I also think it's sad that Onemanga is shutting down. I really hope that Mangafox keeps alive, 'cause AnimeA and Manga Toshokan also closed many series the last few weeks and I'm not very much into Manwha, which is what Manga Toshokan wants to focus on now, I prefer the Japanese style...

My problem is that I'm following many series where I can't remember the names, thus I check the Onemanga front page everyday to see if I recognize a name and if there's no Onemanga anymore, it's going to be hard to check all these series.

And in my opinion most of the scanlaters really do a better jobs than the manga publishers. Here in Germany we have to wait ages for new manga books to come out, and the translations are really really slow(English and French releases are a lot faster) That's why I turned to online reading first. And I can't afford to buy much manga, cause I don't get any pocket money.

Dont worry, like the hydra, you chop one head, two come alive, and over all they arent (cant) killing the scanlators, is a free spirit movement that will keep on living and that publishers must find a way to live in harmony with this......... they must find a way to keep on wining $$$ while working side by side with scanlators and for me the only solution is online readers by publishers with advertising on their sites or merchandising, tiny paid suscription to fast manga releases, you name it, etc.......

ps: A onlime manga dosent have to be printed, folded, etc....... so its manufacture cost is $0, the only cost for a virtual manga is the servers is hosted but that a tiny tiny cost against physical manga, so really its a win win for publishers who are targeting the wrong problem

music had the same issues and instead of killing the mp3 or download sites, it evolved and took advantage of the web

It looks like you have the same problems as me mate smile I too dont know the name of some of the mangas I read. I just check the daily updates on OM and then click on them to see what page it leads me to. and also have the same problems on how slow the official translations usually are and they just dont feel natural somehow. And they dont even translate half of the mangas I read due to stuff loike censorship and stuff.

@chulian1819 , yes, I agree that is infact a very good solution

I had this problem too, thats why I started using the list feature on this website, just so I could keep track of what I was reading

Very unfortunate. It seems that I will have to start storing manga in my PC in stead of reading online from now on. Or does anyone have suggestion for alternative reading sites?

Well, at least MangaUpdates is still here.... none

For people who have lots of series to follow, isn't MU a great site to keep you up to date?(better than any sites I have known so far)
