A few years ago I was having the paralysis just about every night. It led me to alcohol abuse for a while. no I was drinking just so I could sleep through the night. Was terrible. Luckily I haven't drank in a very long time since then, but still. My sister and I both suffer from this regularly and have both talked to doctors (who always try to give me sleep meds----never worked) and holy people of various faiths. The best advice I got from an Aunt of mine who is very educated in spiritual practices of the Native American ways. She said to calm down and try to figure out what they want. Plain and simple. After a while I found that even though I was still paralyzed physically, I could assert my own energy into the situation.

So try this--calmly think to yourself that whatever it is cannot hurt you. Then think "out loud" (as if you were going to talk telepathically) about what they could want with you. Usually I would have a strange dream after that about being someone else, which is weird. Sometimes They would just go away. Once (this was kinda funny in retrospect) I was sleeping on my couch in the living room (no one was home) and I lapsed into paralysis. I could see the shadowy figure in front of me against the wall and facing the wall. As I concentrated on getting a look at it, I felt someone put theri arms around my neck from behind me and laugh in a loud voice "Gotcha!!!!" then I awoke in a fit of panic and ran out the house.

Maybe I'm crazy. But I swear this happens to me.

hmmm. sounds odd to me. either way i for one am not usually scared of being hurt or anything by a presence. it's more so a fear of not being able to do anything. the dream like occurrences that feel like reality just adds fuel to the fire. prolly sounds a bit contradictory but that is as best i can explain how i experience it.

basically for me its not about the enemy as it were being real or not etc(even though that holds some value). its the fact that I'm temporarily paralyzed yet awake in the situation itself.

the calm approach sounds nice. would take some time for me to address that dream like state that way though. i will admit that it doesn't seem to have a pattern with me for when it happens. doctors etc i have talked to(outside of appointment- just friends) have said it could be because of health related things. like nutrition and exercise, etc.

i am not sure that is the case, for me at least. but then again, there is some correlation. this seems to happen to me when i am not exercising, eating right or practicing good sleeping habits

Dreams for me are an escape. I have a constant ringing in my ears. So I know I am dreaming and get a bit more of a run. My dreams are full sence around, full colour, down to the five sences. Some dreams you get to go and learn in a place of all books. Other time those above all give instrution on events that are around. Other times it just for fun.

My brothers and I used to lucid dream when we were younger. That is go to sleep and agree to meet in a known area or place. This works ever well even across cities, we keep up. Even watch movies we have seen, since the mind records all it sees during a day. And time is not like here so you can live a life in one night of dreaming.

But I am in the country of dreaming, Australia. Here the dreaming is in the very ground you stand on. This dreaming is very powerful there are old tracks that can be followed in waking life in the bush. Long ago things happend to cut many off from those dreaming tracks and rings. Still many older dark people still tell stroies of the dreaming. They say it is away of living in the world here or there in the lands of dream, because they say the two are so close. I can say these lands are as close as the edges of places between growing places and wilder land, at the seas edge and the such. Once mindfully known you can travel, and many things.

So going along those lines go complain to the guy's over the dreaming. It works like this in any dream scape there is a thing that is now supose to be there. you use this to get a better dream. It works.!!

i'm bored. let's see if we can revive this thread! biggrin

the last vivid dream i had was really easy to remember cause i was half awake dreaming this and i wrote it down when i woke up cause it was that odd. i dreamed that i died (yeah, yeah, typical). but in the dream i already knew i was gonna cause some unknown force told me. meaning i don't exactly remember how i knew i was gonna die, i just did. and so i died.

but i didn't end my dream or go to heaven or hell, nonono. i ended up in this kind of sports equipment shop/cafe. just woke up sitting in a sofa, and this dude walks up to me and hands me a phonebook. of course i ask if i'm dead and he goes 'duh.' and tells me to look in the book. turns out it wasn't a phonebook but instead a very discriptive catalogue book of random people (i also find out it doesnt ever end).

he explains to me that he's the owner of this place (the whole world-thing--let's call it limbo) and that i could choose what kind of person, what build, whatever i wanted to be when i was reborn out of that book and that it already knew my preferences and had any kind of person i might want to be. i could choose sex, race, body build, special skills (i'm betting this choice was limited), all except the kind of life i'd live. that'd be random. i could even survive and keep living, though i dont think i'd remember dying, i don't remember anything on that. he also says if i don't want to live life, i could stay in the dreamworld place and live there for as long as i'd like, since it was technically heaven, i guess. of course this is a big choice, so i tell him i'd think about it a while.

while i'm thinking, my friend amanda walks in with a group of people i don't know!! i get hella freaked out and ask her when the hell she died and she says shortly after i did. apparently time is retarded there cause somehow she knew all the stuff i did either before or at the same time i did.

so amanda goes off and i explore the cafe a little and find stairs. i ask if i can go upstairs, and the owner goes 'no.' he says something might happen that i don't remember (i think that i might get lost or something). so i go up anyway. upstairs, there's a short hall that's got like six doors. i open the door right in front of me and see another one of my friends, along with another random guy just lying on the floor fully clothed, heads turned away. suddenly my friend turns his head and i see his eyes have creepily lost almost all color in his eyes and now theyre an extremely pale shade of seafoamlike green (y'know the ones in the manga's with almost colorless eyes?). so i get hella freaked out and run downstairs. i run down to the cafe owner and ask him what was upstairs and he simply says people who haven't lived out their proper term of life or havent lived properly, and he sniffs a paper teabag cover, grimaces and says 'bad magic.' and i wake up.

i don't think i could ever think up a story like this without the help of my unconsciousness.

I had this dream about a year ago, i still remember it pretty well...

I was walking through the desert, and I could hear faint singing, and the farther I walked the louder it got. It was then I could see a person on the horizon that was coming towards me. I seemed to be walking forever until I met the person. It was Jesus, and he mouthed something to me, then he shattered and a blue light appeared were he was standing and started floating to the sky as the singing faded.

When I woke up I was crying...

I usualy have two kind of nightmares. First I am being chased by random people through the streets of my neighborhood, I can feel they are trying to kill me and sometimes somehow I can realize that it is a dream so I clinbe a roof and stay there safe until I wake up. Second I dream that I am driving a random car and when I try to stop the brake can not hold the car don't matter how slow I am, so I keep on driving until I wake up. I hope the first one does not come true and the second one has no deeper meaning...

The first dreams I can remember are of me being chased by mummies, I was really little but I had them for several years >.< eventually I stopped having them though (I think it was after we moved when I was 8)

A few months ago I had dreams about Naruto for 2 weeks straight it was really weird because I don’t even like Naruto that much xD
