As much as I love him, Stevie Ray Vaughan is overrated.

Sad but true sad As with a lot of artists if he didn't die that tragic death he wouldn't be nearly a big as he is....

Most any popular band is overrated. The worst I can think of right now is Coldplay though; not that they're bad, just thoroughly mediocre, and not the best band in the world that they're treated as.

I might repeat some of these, but please forgive me.

Green Day [Liked them at first, but then they started to get annoying]

Hannah Montana [Not really a band, but OMG, I'm so sick of her.]

Linkin Park [Good, but highly overrated.]

Rihanna [Take a Bow made me cry. In the bad way. Unfaithful just made me sad. It makes no sense.]

The Jonas Brothers [I like one song. This will probably be the only song I will like.]

Vannesa Hudgens [Not really a band, but I didn't understand why her songs were so freaking popular.]

Leona Lewis [Maybe it's just where I live, but Bleeding Love is seriously played way too much, and all over the place.]

Lil' Wayne [Again, way too much playing. I can take Lollipop, but 50 times a day? Heck no.]

Fergie [I can't get over Big Girls Don't Cry. I woke up and fell asleep to song, if that says anything. And that doesn't even include in between.]

Yeah, all that and pretty much everything else on the radio these days, why isn't there anything good anymore.

I've read through most of the posts, and I determined that either people don't know what overrated means, or where they come from, there are people who constantly overrate them. For example, I have yet to meet someone who worships Led Zeppelin and is constantly talking about them. For that reason, I can't say they're overrated. If anything, I can say they're underrated where I come from since they don't get nearly enough recognition.

On the other hand, there are a ton of Nirvana fans down here who constantly talk about how he is like a revolutionary in his music and how great of a song writer he is, and stuff like that. In fact, the other day, a waiter say my friend wearing a Kurt Cobain shirt and got into a big conversation about him (needless to say he wasn't that good of a waiter). For this reason, I definitely feel that Nirvana is overrated because I don't think that Kurt Cobain is such an amazing songwriter, nor do I think that Nirvana's songs in general are anything above decent.

So, I guess what people classify as overrated really depends on the environment they grow up in, and just how much a person likes a band/artist. If you grow up around people that praise a certain band, and you equally feel that way about that band, you'll be hard pressed to say they're overrated. If you grow up around people who praise a band, but you personally don't think that much of them, of course you'll say they're overrated.

Jeff Buckley
Made 1 good album, half of which were covers, dies and is remembered as some amazing artist. Listen to his live albums... they suck. Which makes me sceptical about the amazing vocals on Grace...
