How about this:

Do you get annoyed by bad grammar/spelling in a scanlation?

1. Definitely, I fixate on bad grammar/spelling.

2. Yes, it's distracting but I usually correct it in my mind and move on.

3. Well, I'm okay with it as long as I can understand what's being said.

4. No, I just glance over the words and understand it instantly.

I was thinking about anime and the guy in Campione! versus the hero in Deadman's Wonderland, Ganta, and thinking about how much I hate Ganta. His whiny attitude that he has to switch into a 'heroic' resolution afterwards irritates me as a watcher.

So I started to think about Hero types. I mean, which heroes are the best/worst?

Puny guys who eventually bulk up into supermen
Cool headed heroes who lose their cool when their friends/lovers are in trouble
Stupid muscle heads who just know justice is on their side and just battle their way out of everything
Brilliant guys who never do more than think their way out of situations
Nice guys who throw themselves into the path of danger
Martial artists who pretty much ignore everyone around them in order to get stronger
Child-like guys who get protected, but are actually the strongest...
Whiny guys who have to constantly question themselves and their resolve...

Well, something like that... Me? I hate the last one. I mean, I'm no fan of a couple of them, but that whiny guy thing REALLY irritates me. mad

How do you spell shoujo/shojo and shounen/shonen?
-Shoujo and shounen
-Shojo and Shonen
-Shoujo and Shonen
-Shojo and Shounen

Ideally it'd be interesting to see geographically which areas spelt them a certain way but that would mean waaaaaay to many options!

*Edit @Blackorion: I know both ways are correct, but it would be interesting to see the proportional split between the two types.

If you were a Japanese High School Student, which club would you belong to?
1. A Sports Club
2. Literature or Arts Club.
3. Math or Science Club.
4. Going Home Club
5. Parapsychology Club
6. Theater, Music or Dance Club
7. Photography, Computer or Astronomy Club.
8. Manga Club
9. Tea Ceremony, Kabuki or History Club.
10. No clubs, must go to Cram School.

I don't know enough about Japanese culture to do a good job on this poll. I would like to see one about holidays or festivals too. Scooping goldfish with tissue nets or Koi Day and Obon... Input welcome.

These are good ideas. I was thinking about the weapon thing too. I'll take a shot at favorite setting.

What is a your favorite background/setting for a manga...

1. A modern-day school.
2. A modern-day workplace. (nowyat<--crushes on salarymen)
3. A modern-day rural village in the mountain or on the coast.
4. A modern-day military setting.
5. A modern-day big city. (This would be your Death Note)
6. A fantasy modern setting where a hidden world of magic is unseen by most people.
7. A historical authentic setting from various periods. Edo 1614-1868 *wait your favorite period could be another poll...* Heian 794-1185, Occupation 1945-1952 (This would be your Rorouni Kenshin)
8. A family setting, with brothers and sisters, parents ect.
9. A fantasy historical setting. (This would be your One-Piece, your Naruto)
10.A futuristic setting. (tech, robots, outerspace, cyber-punk, post-apocolyptic ect.

puff, puff. this is hard. I will come back to edit more later after profound thought. (I did it, aaq.)

P.S. I love the final format you gave the cherry blossom poll. It was a totally different energy dynamic to it. More relevant. Neat. smile

nowyat add post apocaliptic

For me id like to make a poll about authors, like:

Do you like Buronson works?
dont hate or love them.

I kind of want to know how many people like the works of the authos and making a poll with groups of Artist doesnt really work well.

I always read the comments first for spoilers, then I read it if I like the plot. I have been dissuaded by opinion, but they usually turned out to be right... anyway...

It's Hanami, or cherry blossom viewing time! I go...
1. To view many magnificent cherry trees at a busy and popular event.
2. To view the beauty of a single cherry tree with some select friends.
3. I go for the food. "Dumplings rather than flowers".
4. I go for the alcohol and music. It makes them prettier.
5. I like the night viewing events, with paper lanters strung among the trees.
6. I go to contemplate how short life is as the blossom drift down upon me.
7. I just like to break from daily routine and walk through the park.

This could be better. Suggestions? Wait, is this better? I edited.

It's Hanami or cherry blossom viewing time. The blossoms swirl down upon you as you sit on the green grass. You contemplate...

1. The shortness, fragility and beauty of life.
2. The picnic basket.
