Also when I saw some couple in a manga being really bad at communicating with each other, I realized how to improve my own communications with my partner. Lol.
name of the manga? wow!

@chulian1819...

Like Sensei! where the communication gap becomes so huge that the girl actually feels that her partner's cheated on her, WHEN HE HASN'T. Not that that's happened to me, but I remember thinking what a dope the guy was not to clarify things with his girlfriend when it could've saved the relationship, and I also thought the girl was too quick to jump to conclusions before properly hearing the guy out. So it made me think that maybe I actually ought to listen more to my partner and also make sure that there is no room for insecurity on their part. Otherwise I was just such a quiet sort that not saying anything was normal for me, but I realized that not saying anything can sometimes give other people the TOTALLY wrong impression, like maybe you don't care about them or the relationship. >_< But I really do care!

I sort of grew up thinking & being told that "actions speak louder than words" and I just assumed it worked that way, but reading mangas like these ironically made me realize how important words are. I actually have to express how I feel and listen to the other person express themselves, instead of just letting things happen without saying anything.

Lol! Yes, I know I'm weird not to have understood something so basic except thru manga. biggrin But at least I'm willing to improve. eyes

LOL for me manga has told me to expect the complete opposite, to actually not expect much from men at all hahah. I've become very cynical because a lot of shoujo manga does paint those ideals which to me seem so unbelievable.

Honestly, manga has continue to mess up my expectations.

I always dream of a bishounen, tall, broad shoulder, great body, excels on whatever he does, popular but quiet and reserved, and filled with pheromone.

He shyly shows his affection through little subtle actions and occasional surprises. He rescues me in troubled times, gives me a shoulder to cry on and hugs me to rid my stress. He goes far to get me what he thinks would make me happy, even without me asking. The guy is a jealous type, of course; a bit possessive outside, very possessive inside. And so on, and so on. (I will be shameless to list more)

I told my bf about my fantasies, and the only response that I got was "Watever."

Oh well. My bf is great, nothing I want to change about him. (That's a bit of a lie) I got most on my fantasy list, but I guess asking for more is a bit unrealistic. If the guy of my description do come to reality, I will got my self a handsome popular guy who is obsessive, a stalker and a nympho - A RECIPE FOR A SERIAL KILLER >.<

I can understand that you want good looks, good body, nice personality, etc. But excelling in whatever he does and popular? I don't get how those constitute attraction. I would rather dream of myself excelling in whatever I do since that's be at least useful.

nothing wrong in fantasizing.

If I have time to fantasize about me doing well, I am just wasting my time. That's why instead of that, I am putting an effort to excel in everything I do.

At least you can put efforts to achieve your dreams. But you can't control what they achieve.

My point is, why fantasize. JUST DO IT!

well first u has to remerber that in japan woman r second in everything... must be really hard to find men who really care for woman... just see hentais that ull see the way they treat woman to cum...
second shoujo creat romances that is almost impossible to happen in real life: like love for the first sight thats absurd! how can u love someone u even know? in real life love heppens when we admire the person not when we ideolize someone we even can touch...
I think the first step to love is friendship, if u see a girl/boy like a thing ull never love someone and its for the both side: man sees woman like porn dools and woman like a charming prince, love will never happened...
sorry im brazilian i dont write very well english T T

Whoever told you that we're going to be like characters in books? You are too hopeful and start using manga books into your reality. Manga are comics, and ideas made by the author's fantasy. KEYWORD: Fantasy; it's fiction, not real.

Uhh... I don't think hentai should be used as an argument. The emperor and his wife is better choice LOL.

Back to topic: It's a problem when I see real people like manga characters. laugh Takumi Ichinose from NANA is the closest example of "oriental man" (except womanizing).
