If Person A wants to make some money, Person B wants to have sex, and they decide to make a nice convenient trade, I can't see how it's anyone else's business. As long as they're both consenting adults at least.

very true. I think most people confuse the issue of illegal sex slave and under aged prostitute with just legal prostitution. Even in countries like the middle east, where prostitution is illegal through and through, beasts still find opportunity to destroy innocence and gain profit.

I just see it as just another job and see nothing wrong with it. Although i do think that it should be treated as a business, not saying that it should only be legal in brothels or anything, but that it it should not be a under the table type of deal. meaning that both parties need to come to an agreement, there should be some regulations on it, and maybe even pay taxes. If it is going to be a legal job then it should be treated the same as any other job, would make it safer and easier for everyone involved and look way more legitimate.

I'm fine with legal prostitution, however I must remind you all that a lot of criminals forces women to prostitute in order to make money off them. Having prostitution to be illegal, its much easier for law enforcement to combat those criminals and prevent their organizations to make money and expand. On the other hand, if prostitution is legal, gangsters can easily take an advantage of this and blend in with the legal prostitutes.

Your reasoning seems a bit flawed to me. If prostitution is forced underground by making it illegal, it's EASIER for women and children to be forced into it.

There's a demand for it whether or not the government legalizes it, but banning it just makes it harder to keep an eye on.

I must agree. If prostitution is legalized it can also be regulated. If legalized the authorities can pass a law forcing prostitutes to be licensed. If they are required to be licensed it could easily cut down on the underage prostitution and make it harder for organized crime to prey on illegal migrants.

Engaging in prostitution without a license could still be illegal and carry the same consequences as before it was legalized.

I'm a firm believer that if it's legalized it will be easier to force out the pimps and the ancillary crime surrounding prostitution. If it's legalized prostitutes could form co-op brothels and if it's legal those brothels could then legally hire licensed security guards. A guy walks into a licensed brothel and sees a 6'3" 240lb security guard at the front desk, he probably isn't going to take too many liberties with the prostitute thus ensuring her physical safety.

The problem is when the government (particularly the US government) gets involved it becomes a such a cluster f**k that sometime in the future that we are literally right back where we started. You don't have to look no further than TSA, Social Security, and Medicare (just a few of many examples) of how the government operates.

If done right, prostitution can just be considered another business.

I had to pleasure to visit De Wallen (the famous red light district) in 2004 and it was an incredible experience. However, when I went back to visit last year, I noticed many of the once famous prostitution windows had been shut down as well as half of the "coffee shops". You could instantly tell that much of the fun liberties had been removed.

i approve of prostitution only because if prostitution becomes legalized in most Western countries i really do believe that sex trafficking will decrease (mostly hoping for child sex trafficking to decrease but i think thats just wishful thinking)

This is stupid. Not against it, it is a job?? I don't know why God created Man and woman anymore. Husband and wife. What is that for?? A job, that is ridiculous excuse ever. I hope your sister or you mother go get a job as a prostitution in the future. Let see what you think about it. Damn when people is godless, this is what happen. Using 100% of their brain, even though their brain never surpass God. Why religion against prostitution, there must be a reason.mad

Piss off, hahaha. laugh

Its a bit troublesome to have a clean life after being a prostitute in my opinion. If the past catches up on her, and she doesn't tell anyone in her new life, It'll take a person who truly loves her to keep her.
