HQ/MQ once in a while. Really, LQ releases look horrible and show that not a lot of time and effort was put into it. If you want to pursue a hobby like this, do it well.

Why only scanlations? Why not raw scans?

I don't like LQ, double pages, or too small pictures. I usually read them, as long as they're not really bad quality.

I'll just read the first release.
No use reading it again.
Manga really isn't all that artistic
and sensual that it should be read
over and over again.

What about those who just read whatever is available?

I was wondering if people besides me read LQ but archived HQ. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person who is obsessive about that.

Usually I only read the first release, still sometimes I would wait for some specifical group's release. I used to archive them, now I just delete them òÖ

I read low quality scans, not bad quality scans, I read the best quality scan I can at the time, which is usually LQ version.

Only if there is absolutely no HQ readily available, and it is something I really want to read. Like I said before the way it is with more popular series, since they are produced weekly, I understand and am willing to read lower quality releases.

hey, what about MQ? Is it combined with HQ? I never read LQ, but I also didn't read HQ, it takes too long to be translated

Err... What's the difference between HQ and LQ? 8DDD;;; I think I just read whatever is available first. Especially for those manga titles that aren't popular like the big names and only a small group scans them.

Yo, so since it seems a lot of people are confused, I just want to clarify why I made this poll. This is from my other post here:
Quote
It seems most people want good quality, but I wonder, how many people actually download the HQ release when it gets released, even after some period of time has passed since the LQ version got released? From my own experience, it feels like once most people read the LQ version, they don't care about the HQ version anymore, unless they just want to archive it. But then I don't think most scanlators put in work just to have people archive (at least for me personally, I want people to read our work).
As a scanlator, I'm curious to see what are people's views on this. What do you think?

So yeah, just assume there are two versions of the same manga out, one has better quality (HQ) and the other has worse quality (LQ) but is faster. HQ could actually be MQ or whatever.

I basically want to see what people would do *if* they had the choice of these two versions. I'm pretty sure that if you had only one version to choose from, everyone wouldn't care, but what if there is a good version? Would you wait for it, or would you read the LQ first and then read HQ later? Or [fill in the blank]? Anyway, those are the general behaviors I observe, so those were the choices I put.

Hope that lessens the confusion.

I picked the LQ only (option 4), but that isn't correct either. I read a manga (usually once) in the best quality that I can find. If I can't bear the LQ, I'll read the HQ when it comes out

I pretty much read whatever comes out first.

as a scanlator myself ill reply to that qoute:
-Sadly to do HQ/MQ releases u have to find good raws first, most raws online are craptastic, to get good ones u either have to BUY the book and scan it or wait years for someone to share some tank scans out.
-Staff, good ones. Sadly my staff aint that great but i have to make do with them.

soooooo why bother release something of LQ quality then? well its better than nothing at all bigrazz
