But if it's the current villain's flashbacks, then who cares? Once he's defeated, it's not as if he'll ever show up again after that, so quit wasting our time with all his OMG sad past. It's SUCH a cliche to find out about the villain's OMG sad past right before he dies too. Another reason I don't think Nagato will last more that a couple more chapters. Let the power of friendship and understanding begin! bigrazz

I hope Nagato's story doesn't last too long.

I'm just as curious as he is to hear Naruto's answer though. That should be interesting...should be... laugh

But yeah, i've never been keen on flashbacks and long fights. I swear the Saskue Itachi fight killed me. It took so long for that fight to come out with a goddamn conclusion laugh

Anyone see Naruto becoming another Sasuke? It seems to be going that way... and I was seriously hoping that it wouldn't.

Man, nagato ark still drags on. How many more chapters needed to put him down already?

My only complaint about this chapter is that its too freaking short.

LOL! After reading this series for (good God!) going on 9 years now, I'm pretty cynical about what Kishimoto will do. ^_^;

How do you mean "another Sasuke"? I don't see him running away from the village any time soon. If you mean emo, that scene where Naruto ripped open his shirt in righteous man-pain before trying to go 9-tails was pretty embarassingly emo. (In retaliation to having his "emo king" title threatened, I've heard Sasuke plans to start wearing drainpipes and writing poetry.)

But really, if Naruto ever hopes to bring the bastard back home, I think he needs a better understanding of what it's like to want revenge. Probably that's all that'll really come of this. Naruto will take the high road in the end and come up with some other solution. It's part of why he wants to talk to Nagato to begin with, even if he's still enraged right now.

At least it doesn't have gaping mortal plot holes like Bleach...

That Deidara-Sasuke fight had a huge gaping mortal plot hole. Sasuke summoning Manda, then using time-space jutsu to teleport inside Manda and somehow survive despite being drained of chakra and being a few feet in front of Deidara when he kamikazi'd himself with no time to do a handseal or any time to find some cover.

You know, I could never tell the similarities between Masashi and Seishi's art until now. Nagato on the last page screaming looks EXACTLY like Daichi from Blazer Drive, except for the eyes obviously.

At least people die when they receive mortal wounds in Naruto. And plot holes such as the Espada being said to be above Gotei 13 captains in power then losing to them easily is a lot worse than a main character avoiding an inescapable death. I'm not defending it by saying it's good...it's just not as bad as Bleach.

Oh yeah, I agree completely. I was just pointing out that Naruto has huge plot holes as well.

can someone please explain to me how Naruto would ever be able to bring his boyfriend home. its my understanding that even in the its shounen universe run away ninja's are considered criminals usually with bounties on their heads.

This manga needs better plot devices than "bringing Sasuke back".
Like so many people already said, the whole Nagato arc is just about teaching Naruto more about revenge, and being able to bond more with Sasuke, or something along those lines.

I am seriously starting to get pissed off with it all. Since chapter 230 or so the ultimate goal has been bringing that fruitcake back. That's half of the chapters so far. I think that it's about time to move on and let the main protagonist of shounen manga with so much potential have a more worthy goal.

Even having no defined goal would be better than this crap. Have Naruto team up with Kirabee and make up a wondering ninja rapping duo that goes around the Naruto-verse kicking ass and rhyming it up.
Like that at least we could see some of the other villages. I'm tired of seeing Konoha blown to bits, just to be re-built so that it can be blown up again (Sasuke and Madara still haven't even had their turn).

If Kishimoto insists on keeping this up he should at least publicly say that he's turning it into yaoi, and/or a manga about a crazy, obsessed stalker ninja that wants to have g*y bu*t s*x with a uber-strong but emo ninja.

Man I wish he's draw some more of the Cloud village, that was so awesome. And I wanna see the rock village too.
/rant out

They'll totally connive things so that Sasuke does something big and heroic at the last possible moment--like help Naruto defeat Madara or some crap. That way he comes off like a savior and all will be forgiven and forgotten. Just watch, I would put money that this is how it'll play out.

I think this is why the village was destroyed by Pain--so that Sasuke couldn't do it and officially become a bad guy. Now he's got to do something else quasi-evil before he can be "redeemed." bigrazz

When you're right, you're right.

In part I of the series, all Naruto could talk about was becoming stronger to be Hokage. In part II, all he cares about is becoming stronger to bring Sasuke back. He puts even Sakura's obsession with Sasuke to shame. Has Naruto even gone on ONE mission post-time skip that didn't have anything to do with Sasuke or Akatsuki? (LOL "crazy, obsessed stalker ninja that wants to have g*y bu*t s*x with a uber-strong but emo ninja" indeed. That's totally the behavior of a typical straight male, what are you talking about?)

Getting to see more of the ninja universe is about the only really good thing that has come out of all this crap with Sasuke. The thing with the giant cat was cool as was the stuff with Cloud Village. How much more awesome would the manga have been if we'd gotten to see all that stuff as part of ninja missions like in the good old days of the Wave Country arc?

The current storyline has to finish sometime, right? (But yeah, at least this series hasn't gotten as bad as Bleach.)
