Ignoring fonts and their styling, what kind of subtitle size/padding do you prefer for your subtitles? Just choose any from the image or if none of them really suit you suggest something else.

See pic here.

And that aside, which group's subtitles do you like the most? That includes the font and styling.

I would go for B on that one.

I don't watch that much anime so I can't comment about a group. But I do however, like it when different colours are used for the characters speech.

I'm not very fussy though. As long as it's readable and not too small where I have to squint even more than usual (glasses laugh ) I don't mind.

A or B are both waaaaay better than C or D.

I have a mild preference for A over B as I have had some problems with subs being too low when I watch on the tv instead of the comp, but for most things either A or B would be fine.

I don't really watch much anime so I don't have a favorite group, but I'm generally in favor of keeping things simple & easy to read even if it's less "pretty". eyes

A or C. It kind of depends on the style. In actiony shows I perfer A, but in shows with a lot of dialogue I perfer C.

And as for my favorite groups I care more about their being consisant iin style than what style they use.

It bothers me when subs are too big and obscure more of the picture than is necessary.
But, A and B are both a good size. I'd say B.

Actually all of them are fine. The worst thing is when there are a bunch of different colors and flowery font.
Just use yellow, or white with a border, like in the pic. xD

As I already posted, I'm strongly in favor of keeping things simple (no flowery fonts, please!), but there can be cases where having two (or more) colors helps make clear who's saying what. eyes

I like A. B is ok, but C and D are way too small.

If its on the computer or on TV, I prefer C. But if I want it for my mp3 player, I go with A.

And the only subtitles that I can remember standing out were maybe the ones for bleach. I don't remember what group that was.

That's true.
I don't mind it when they do that, although I like it better if they use hyphens to help, like this:

-Is that so?
-No not really.

But either way is ok.

I choose for A. Maybe just because its making my eyes spin around the screen? XD But like the other I can also live with B.

As for the groups, I don't really know any. Mostly watch anime my friend lends me, and when I go to watch anime online I skip the credits and the opening song.

This. For some reason when I play a file on my xbox360 sometimes the subtitles are cut off if it's too low (i.e. B) and I can't change the aspect ratio so everything is visible. Otherwise, I'm not picky about subtitles (though I do have a preference of white over yellow as the generic subtitle colors).

I'd say A, but if the anime/drama, had very interesting costumes, or scenes, I'd choose B, since it's there and still a little reclusive.

I'd go with B. Too small subs and I end up paying more attention to the sub than a the actual show.

As for sub group preference, Live-evil, [m.e.e.w.], shinsen, static-subs and Eclipse. There are some others but their names don't come to mind.
