less than a month at tops
I'd prefer less than 2 weeks
these releases are something people are looking forward to months/years in advance
filthy casuals

I assume that we talk about concluded works? At least a few years after initial release. Let´s say 2 years. Only truly literary buffs, or whatever the word is here, go back to older works. So few can be harmed by throwing out major plot points left and right in this scenario.

I'm not sure what to choose since I only discuss a series in a specific forum, whether it's "up to translated", "latest raw" or any other type of discussion knowing full the risk of spoiler mmm...
So I guess Any time you want is my choice mmm...

NEVER, unless It's in e.g. a dedicated forum and even then shields should always be usted. People have different timetables and multiple interests, AT least give them a f'ing option instead of spoiling Naruto on a Bleach-page, One Piece on a random musicvideo on youtube or the ending of Sons of Anarchy on the Witcher 3-reddit.

I personally don't worry too much about spoilers, but a few of my friends do, so i try to keep it low profile when i am discussing it somewhere people might not have read it. Might include some spoilers if it had been a few years and spoilers are a way to convince someone to read the series they otherwise wouldn't... So a few years i suppose.

NEVER, particularly if it's character death. There are several good series I cannot continue because some idiot spoiled a death for me.

It does not depend on when the series is released, but the person's feeling about spoiling in general

I don't think it's ever okay to give away spoilers to a manga (or movie, or tv show) regardless of when it's released. You should always give a spoiler warning to make sure the people you are discussing the series with are okay hearing spoilers. I often read and watch older series and I personally never want to hear any spoilers, whether its a major plot point or just a minor thing.

I agree with this. If youre going to give away spoilers it should always be accompanied by a warning or preferably spoiler tags. There's little more infuriating than watching a show when you've already been spoilered. Member

Tell that to people who cannot shut up about subjects such as Aeris' death in Final Fantasy VII, but, then again, that also shows the quality of the story. If the plot for a media relies on the viewer having to be "spoiler-free" on the story, doesn't that show how weak it is? The previous poll was just about how often people will re-experience a series, but the thing about returning to a series is that you'll know everything that will happen. So, all the surprises are already spoiled and all that's left is the execution.

Clicked never, because it's not when it's acceptable to discuss, but where

I chose 'never', at least in reference to major plot points or endings. I mentioned a movie I haven't seen to a friend the other day and she said 'oh, the one where everyone dies in the end'...... ...I don't have any friends who like manga, so usually I just avoid reading any online commentary until I'm done a series, except for reviews on this site, and people are generally good about using spoiler tags in the reviews.

If a series has been out for years and years and years already, and someone hasn't read/watched it yet, especially if it was (or maybe still is) a popular series, then they're just gonna have to take the L on the spoiler front if said series becomes a topic of discussion. I would, however, avoid dropping the bigger spoilers in a series if I'm aware someone hasn't read/watched it yet and is intending to relatively soon.
Now if it's a relatively new series (has been out for less than 2 years), then I would be sure to avoid bringing up the biggest plot points or reveals that have come up up to the most recent chapters.
