Looking for a female character with traits and a story arch nomaly ascribed to male shounen characters, eg becoming hokage, pirate king or other number one bad ass. Do not want a lead that is just used as an excuse for fan service. Mainly interested in action and/or adventure series. As always all suggestions are appreciated.

The Tomboyish Female Lead tag would probably be a good place to start.

Probably the best example I can think of is Tetsuwan Girl. She wants to be the best baseball player.

Here are some more that might be close to what you are looking for:

Gokusen
Saver
Mononoke Soushi
Tokyo Crazy Paradise

Oh, this is pretty hard.

Teppu maybe? She's an antiheroine though so I guess it's not very shounen protagonist-ish.
I think Magician (KIM Sarae) fits but it's been ages since I've read it.

It's not an action/adventure story but the main character in Chihaya Furu is very much the typical shounen sports protagonist.

I honestly can't think of shounen examples. Maybe a classic shoujo action series might suit your tastes? Basara is the main one that comes to mind. For something more recent, Akatsuki no Yona might fit.

And Chang Ge Xing!! It's on indefinite hiatus but I'm still recommending it because it's still worth reading (in my opinion).

You might also have some luck using the "Male Demographic with Female Lead" category tag in combination with the appropriate genre tags.

Already tried it with the combination of shounen, was a short list with nothing of what i was looking for.

im constantly looking for series like this haha, so here are some suggestions! Sadly, none are fantasy based like big name shounen :\

Shiori Experience - Jimi na Watashi to Hen na Oji-san - This isn't really action, but the music scenes are dynamic and wonderfully drawn. Almost zero fanservice and the female protagonist is aiming to be a musical legend in a pretty shounen way!

Asahinagu Zero fanservice and almost all the characters are like genderswapped shounen manga characters, complete with a goodlooking, but bland male love interest who notices the female protagonist's hard work and determination lmao

Subaru & I-Revo are both sports/action ones and both female protagonists are aiming for global level competitions. I think the latter has a bit of fanservice, but I don't remember it being terrible.Kenrantaru Grande Scène is similar to Subaru, but more about being the best at ballet.

Shudan! Another sports one, this time soccer, and the protagonist isn't female but the main female character has a huge role. Aims to be a national level female soccer player.

Jinrou Game thought I'd throw this one out there even if it doesn't quite fit; this one is a survival manga where the female protagonist is trying to survive and win a game, even if it costs others their lives.

I don't know whether you'll like it because her goal is not what you're expecting but you might like it
In Full Bloom (YON Jae-Won)

Lead form I-Revo certainly checks some of the boxes from what im looking for.

The Promised Neverland? wanna save everyone type. Highly recommended.
To an extent even Kenrantaru Grande Scène ? It's about ballet but its structured more like ur typical sport shounen
Reiri only has like 4 chapters so far but looks very promising

Not sure if you're describing Claymore or have read it.

Hibiki - Shousetsuka ni Naru Houhou is another interesting title about a ballsy girl who is a genius in literature.
