The sun will 100% blow up one day but it´s unlikely that life on earth will make it that far. Solar flares are deadly and most other options wouldn't kill the whole planet, so I still go with the sun option in the end.

Honestly, depends on a number of factors. The sun screwing everything up has historically happened and would be considered a likely way things would go, but everyone and everything would be probably be long long dead, buried, forgot, and turned into oil by then (Unless some freak incident happens). Meteor is always a classic, and is still considered a likely possibility with innumerable "close calls" already. Super virus could happen seeing as how long dead diseases, like polio, are making a comeback (And did everyone forget about ebola?), yet people keep pushing for ZERO screenings of foreigners because it's "offensive" and anti-vaccinations are on the rise thanks to religious groups. As for technology, that will result in the downfall of man only because of our stupidity. As stated innumerable times a a machine cannot think. You give it data and it outputs a response, and it doesn't care about what the response is. Remember the whole TayTweets incident? Yeah, keep in mind that the one thing people "learned" was that "We need to make 'ethical A.I.'", not the fact that perhaps computer process information a Hell of a lot faster than we do and produce a response (Based off of that information) that comes at odds with what we may believe to be true. And, lack of resources and/or ecological disaster is almost definitely going to happen if people don't address the fact that China, India, and Africa are far beyond their population complicity, the source of 95% of the pollution in the oceans, and not to mention all the smog.

As for addressing all the memes:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Nuclear war/fallout is just a meme that the media likes to dredge up to scare people, but would never happen the way they depict it (Especially since nukes are not THAT powerful beyond just taking out a singular city and leaving the immediate surrounding area untouched, nuclear stockpiles are in decline, and those resources are being diverted towards more productive tasks like being used as fuel).

Super volcanoes looks to be another meme for various reasons: http://archive.fo/Ls4FS

Zombies are only possible if magic is involved (Which requires you to be religious in some complicity).

Aliens either don't exist, are far behind or at the same level we are, or are already far past us and just don't really care.

Global warming is also a meme because the Earth was a supposed "paradise" during the time of the dinosaurs, with plant and animal life everywhere, and 5 times the amount of CO2 present on the planet today: http://archive.fo/eF3hU
And the world was a Hell of a lot warmer: http://archive.fo/fl5Jo

God is always a good choice, but that's an option that people can neither confirm nor deny.

And, as for "smart animals", didn't scientists come to the conclusion that humans having "intelligence" was more of a freak accident going by all their data in relation to evolution?

(And did everyone forget about ebola?)

I cheer Ebola-chan in her quest to love the world (to death). That's how I voted, but the 'Screaming Meteor Of Doom' is a close second!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who laughed at 'Global Warming' ending humanity. If we were that frail any of the previous ice ages or warm periods would have wiped us out long ago. CO2 is required for life on this planet. If that were to drop below a certain level it would indeed end everything, but it needs to pass 3000ppm to even begin to 'make us sick'.

I voted Global warming but it's worth noting that some subset of the people voting for Lack of resources or ecological disaster probably realizes that those resource shortages and ecological disasters are commonly (that is, among the set of probable future universes) caused by global warming.

I'm going to be boring and practical and say Lack of resources or ecological disaster, though Nuclear war seems fairly likely, too. Maybe a combination?

>Planet, moon, or meteor collides with Earth.

The most voted options even if they're most likely to happen I doubt it will wipe off everyone.

I chose ‘Lack of resources or ecological disaster’, with the acknowledgement noted by HikaruYami, that climate change impacts resource availability/ecosystems.

About global warming it's the rate of change and considering the life that currently lives in, even if we ignore temperatures change of precipitations in different lands and of acidity in the oceans will really f things in the food chain.

I have to agree, so when is the invasion of Africa and Asia scheduled to tell them to knock it off?

Or, do you want to take the route of instituting tariffs? Either way works, in my opinion.

Where's the "heat death of the universe" option? Some of us are optimists, you know!

Went with Global Warming before I saw the lack of resources/ecological disaster option and the two are inextricably linked to me.

Actually if we're looking at CO2 then I wouldn't say Africa at all and only Asia because Asia has so many more people than the US and Europe. Looking at per capita here (it's ranked by total emissions and not per capita) you can see that the US is top three (behind Saudi Arabia and Australia). If you're talking plastics specifically, it's waste mismanagement. The US uses uses a lot of plastics too, but until recently the US would ship/recycle by sending its plastic to China... Here's some contextualization about plastics.

Heck no! Canada will lower it's CO2 emissions and plastic output by a tiny % at enormous cost, and save the world! Oh wait, that'll do absolutely nothing at all, even if we reduced both by 50% (which is literally impossible) and would undoubtedly bankrupt us :/ Oh well!!
Surely China and India will be 'shamed' into cutting their emissions in half instead of, you know, doubling their output as both nations have planned under the Paris Accord... Sigh...
😢

Per capita is meaningless, it's the total amount that counts.
Africa and Asia put 95% of the plastic that is in the oceans, USA is about 1%. We ship our recyclables over there and if they throw it in the ocean? It isn't our fault.
For example: the 'per capita' CO2 of Lithuania (just to pick a small random nation) might be 3x that of USA... but so what? That's still a tiny fraction of a % in the total world human output... China's and India's per capita is low... but they have 3x or 4x as many people! Thus they're #1 and #3 in CO2.
