There's a little about archaeology in Ouke no Monshou, I think. However, I don't think that's the type of manga you should sell yourself for. Lots of annoying shoujo cliches were started by it.

So of all the "cliches" it's the original? Sounds interesting, though your probably right.... I have yet to have fallen so low as to sell myself for a cliche, no matter how vintage or "original" it was for it's time.... Especially if it's the reason manga gets so repetitive and annoying sometimes.
Let's see If someone else can find something worthwhile I can sell myself for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Embalmer <== umm... like the title says, embalming? xD
M.C. Law <== never read this, but maybe lawyer?
Kaji Ryuusuke no Gi <== never read this, politicians and politics?
Akumetsu <== despite what it first seems, there's A LOT of politics the main character uses
Kami no Shizuku <== never read this, but wine and politics?
Yugo: Shimokita Hantouhen & Hanzai Koushounin Minegishi Eitarou <== never read these, but negotiator manga?
Gokusen <== some stuff on yakuza
Karei naru Shokutaku <== never read this, but curry?

WOW!!!! You guys are gonna have me busy all summer!!! ::hearts::
So there really is nothing else about archaeology oh well, thanks you all for what you have found so far!!!!!!!!!!
Is there anything that any of you know of that teaches chinese philosophy? And something with the Kabballah would be wonderful!!!
I'll keep updating the list with all your suggestions and or remove titles as I read them depending on how accurate. Maybe even make a simple 5 star classifying system or something. I'm hoping this thread will become The Educational Manga thread for the future that people can reference back to.

Hahaha, no problem~
Actually to be honest, I wouldn't really reccomend Saki as a good mahjong manga sinceI heard there's a bit moe loli fanservice (at least from what I heard of the anime...). A better series would probably be Akagi, which is by the same managaka who also does a lot of other good gambling manga like Kaiji.
Out of all the music industry manga, I think your best bet would be Beck.
edit.
never read any of these:
very far-fetched, but seems like Vaizard may contain archeologist-themes.
Germany/Jews: Adolf ni Tsugu
contains maybe Germany/Jewish themes, but seems very very far-fetched, lol : Spriggan, Netsuno Ori & Avalon - Eien no Ai no Shima

note: most of these series I have never read before:
Famous people IRL?: Henjin Henkutsu Retsuden
Process of beautification: Aru Hi Bijin ni Nattara
Tea Ceremony: Ocha Nigosu
Lawyering?: Defense Devil (aaand maybe Phoenix Wright? (kinda sketchy cause not sure how much real lawyering goes on in that manga...)
are you also looking for manga adaptions of classics like Dante's Divine Comedy?
Also,
Mythology and folklore, religious/tribal beliefs: http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=6253&hl= religious
(sketchy but) more stuff on myths: http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=11315&hl =mythology
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=11432&hl =mythology
Writing: http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=12055&hl =writing
Raising children: http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=8152&hl= children

Umm... Cesare. It's about a Cesare Borgia. So, it's a historic manga, but like all literary works, it uses artist licence to mess with some stuff. If you want to know what, then do a little research on it... that's why I call it an Educational manga, because it makes the reader want to look up the characters to see how accurate the manga is to real life.
For food, I would say Addicted to Curry. It has recipes in them that reader could try, if they so chose to do so. I chose not to which means I can't say that they taste good or should be eaten, but the ingredients seem plausible.
Edit: I just noticed that this was added to the page... so I second this one.
For cars/mountain racing... Initial D it's epic... a very long--almost unendingly so--manga that is very detailed about cars and the mind set of mountain racers.
Here's one that is sort of health driven Always Together. It is about two obese teenagers that want to better themselves and do... I don't know if you would call that educational, but it's only a oneshot so if it's not than it will not take too much of your time.
You might even go for Ubunchu!. It slightly educates a reader about the types of computers and is geared towards UNIX... very slightly. It's a oneshot.
This one is a "who done it" story called The Boys Who Stopped Time, and it's a oneshot.
I would add more but they are stories with morals (and the moral of the story is) rather than educational ones... sort of. So, if you still want to see them take a look at my complete list, just click my name and go from there (or just click here). I do have some really sappy love stories there too but just take a look though them, because the best way to learn is to think critically about stories rather then being told what to think...
As for how the list is arranged, it's good. The only thing I could think of is to do something like this...
Food:
Manga a--description
Manga b--description
Historical:
Manga c--description
and so on and so forth.
Spacing is very good on the eyes, it stops things from looking cluttered... most of the time. Just think what this entry would look like with it all stuck together... yeah it would be that bad.
Also, if you say stories with a moral are okay I could add some myself so you don't have to go digging through my lists, if you don't want. Another thing, Gokusen only vaguely seals with yakuze... it's more a coming of age story, or one that promotes bettering one's self.

Master Keaton isn't really about archeology. It's mainly detective story with a bunch of educational informations on politics, martial arts, history, moral, philosophy, culture, archeology (of course), etc. My favourite among Urasawa Naoki's manga. Unfortunately english scanlation is on hiatus, but the anime is fully subbed (it does follow the manga very closely).
Q.E.D. - Shoumei Shuuryou : math, science, logical thinking, and basically same type with Master Keaton. Sadly it's not scanlated yet, but it seems it has been picked up by a group.
Black Jack ni Yoroshiku : medicine, hospital politics.

@Toto
I'll take all your suggestions!!! And pls leave all the stories with a moral in a post here! There are, after all, many things to learn in life besides just technical things like science, history etc. People also have to learn to be ppl!!! That's why I added the Raising Children category even though it might have seemed a little far fetched. After all, stories like those were created for educating purposes, and it would be short sighted of me to ignore them just because it's hard work or doesn't conform to the traditional sense of "subjects necessary to learn."
@yuuri097
Thank you for putting all the categories in advance so clearly for me!!! Ennui very much appreciates it!!!!!!

You're welcome, Ennui~
I just like answering threads here, and I wish you luck with your goal.
Erm... also perhaps Saint Young Men for Christianity and Buddhism?
Also, A Child's Child for underaged pregnancy?

Meh, you're not looking for educational manga--you're looking for manga about something, lol. You've even got Hotman, one of the few that might actually be viewed as educational jotted down as teaching how to be a father. It teaches the reader health tips! It is about being a father. Practically any manga could fall into the very loose requirements you've set for an "educational manga."

Hm, interesting. Then what do you suggest should be my parameters for deciding? pls, anyone, input on this would be very helpful!!!
Which ones do you think have nothing educational that are on the list so far? Which ones do you think should definitely stay? Like I said I haven't read most of these as the original reason for this thread was to find new manga to read. Thanks for your input!!!

Despite the questionable accuracy of the info, these have genuine "educational" elements:
IS - intersexuality
Hotman - health tips
Futari Ecchi - sex
Team Medical Dragon - Japanese medicine
I know there's more, but I can't recall right now.
Definitely should not be on the list:
Detective Conan
Gunslinger Girl
Defense Devil (haven't read it, but just read the synopsis...)
Beck
Yotsubato!
Aishiteruze Baby
Kodomo no Jikan (...seriously?!)
Chokotto Sister
I'd add more, but it's either been too long since I read some of the manga or the line is a bit fuzzy and I don't want to be too restricting.
