Well the main character is actually Maki, but I honestly do not know if Aikawa is a male, female, or even a hermaphrodite; there is no concrete evidence. If I really needed to given an answer/guess, I'd say male.

In any case, it doesn't really matter to me. This manga will be great regardless of what gender(s) Aikawa is.

By the way, what chapter is this manga up to in Japan? Also, what is its frequency of release? I am unable to do translations (as of now, anyway), but I'd be interested in purchasing the raws (if this is even how it usually works. Are the raws usually uploaded by some scanner in Japan? Or does one usually import the raws and then scan them?)

I think that Aikawa's sex is male (meaning her genetics), but her gender is female (what she is in her heart and soul). Gender is not always the same as ones sex.

Well; i will say from my own experience; there is a mutant disease called Swyer syndrome like this; the person genotype is XY which is male however the expression is female due to the lacking of SRY on chromosome Y which will express to male. Therefor the person will has the body of female but since they dont secrete estrogen so they dont have breast or menstruate; also they wont able to have child.

It has to be a girl. If it really is supposed to be a shonen, I can't imagine it being a BL, though if the author just plans to tease it out forever with these semi one shot style chapters we may never know. I mean they are definitely couple like.

Again, this topic is discussing the gender of the titular character in Prunus Girl, rather than that of the preferred gender for the main character of any manga.

It's a boy, by the way. Else the manga is a huge cop out (And as per the person who said no Boy's Love... If people are already reading the manga, than there's no reason why that's the case. And since the author drew a female character and labeled her male for story purposes, it doesn't matter anyway)

She is a hermaphrodite.

Hmm, the possibilities are much clearer after seeing this answer.

Hopefully, 'he' is a boy.

I'd say a boy.

In truth though, I don't care about which gender Aikawa is, since (s)he's awesome either way.

I would say she is a she, the swimsuit scene kind of convinced me, despite it being overly inconclusive.

This manga title is really frustrating, but the plot is so mickey moused that I don't think there is big chance of him uncovering the truth. I can sense it coming to the dreaded "Whether she is a male or not, I don't need to know, I love her all the same". Assuming such a scenario would arise.

The only thing that could ruin this manga is if Aikawa ended up being female.

I mean, that's the selling point of this manga; Aikawa better be male.

He says that he is a boy though, but who knows if he was just joking or not.

I don't think aikawa's sexe is very important for the story xD
But i m pretty sur he is a guy =)
there is no point in the story if he is a girl.

it'd be pretty funny if she/he was a girl but i think that 'it' is a hermaphrodite as well, i mean, cant he just pull down his pants!

Oh no! A manga that isn't as gay as I initially thought? *gasp*

Seriously, what do you people expect? Cross Days has been recently released. Go get it.

There should be no doubt that she is a girl. This isn't that kind of manga. Wrong style and magazine.
