F_J gave a lot of poll suggestions in one shot that I liked, hence this is another one by F_J. The circumstances here are that a series has already been over for a year or more. You liked the series, but it's been out of your mind for a while now. Suddenly a special chapter is released that takes place after the ending of the series. Maybe it's just a trip to an onsen. Or maybe it's an actual epilogue! Or perhaps a time skip to 10 years into the future? Would you enjoy that?

Previous Poll Results
Question: Have you ever gotten interested in a new hobby because of how it was portrayed in manga? (e.g., sports, games, cooking, acting, etc)

Never - votes: 728 (23.6%)
Many times! - votes: 644 (20.9%)

Easier to read about things than to actually do them

No opinion as these can go in every direction possible. Death Note is about to get a 2nd time-jump epilogue btw.

They usually aren't good but I love Shaman King 0's chapter of Yoh so much that I can't have a fixed opinion

No opinion I won't go back to read extra anythings of a story that I finished long ago. However, if I just finished the original and the extra came out, I might read it. (Some stories you yourself don't finish till years after the ending, in those cases the extras seem just a continuation of the story and not an extra).

Cool, but I won't be reading it because damn, do a lot of them end up taking away from the original rather than adding to it. Or are just pointless. Either way, it's a waste of time/effort/data. (This is even more true of anime, imo. The number of "sequel movies" I've watched that ended up making the whole parent series seem pointless...) All power to people who're into them, of course (I think some of them are actually made to cater to fan demand, so...)

If I notice it and I'm not absolutely finished with the manga and its universe, sure!
Problem tends to be the whole noticing thing...

It depends on what kind of after-story for me. I haven't read or watch Boruto nor I have the intention to do so. I enjoyed Naruto as it is.

But sometimes, I loved an epilogue as a closing story. Ouran High School Host Club has some small epilogues about each characters. Or Love So Life's after story, but with the twins story after they grew up a little.

Hate it because it will be a stray and never get printer in any volume for eternity.

Seen way too many for my liking. One series I follow, an extra which pretty much epilogue for the series got printed in the magazine it was serialized when the volume came out to "commemorate" the release. I guess the publisher got sales spike on that particular month but as fan what a shitty way to end the series.

It depends on the series. If it’s more of a slice of life/comedy/episodic series, I’ll welcome extras. If the series had a well-constructed and fluid plot with a clear conclusion, I probably don’t want to read some extra tacked on because the series was popular. The Death Note ‘new Kira’ one was awful IMO...

I don't love extras but I love spinoff series!!! It can evolve a franchise.. in a CLAMP way...

I picked I enjoy them, only if the main characters are the same

To clarify this choice, it only needs at least 1 shared main character. I have no interest in the world-building epilogue oneshots where a cast I have no emotional connection with is experiencing the world after whatever events the real main cast brought about.

For example, I'll be reading the Death Note second epilogue chapter because of Ryuk.

Though, if I liked a series, and the author starts up an actual sequel series years later, I'll totally read that.
