A slight expansion on a previous request. I'm looking for characters who've suffered from lies and rumors about them. The lies may be built around an event from the past, or deliberate or inadvertent spreading of false information. The core though is that there are awful rumors spreading about the individual resulting in a bad reputation, difficulties making friends, etc. For example, in Omae o Otaku ni Shiteyaru kara, Ore o Riajuu ni Shite Kure!, the main heroine caught the eye of another girl's crush some time before the start, and that other girl retaliated by spreading all kinds of rumors about her being a rampant slut who's currently sleeping with five different guys; truth is she's lightly androphobic and has zero experience. A similar thing happened in one chapter of Salad Days, with a guy receiving a confession and at first accepting but then dumping her when he hears about her "past", only to beg for forgiveness when her friend reveals the truth. Also happens to guys. In Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume o Minai the main character suffered a bad injury in the past and was put in the hospital, but somehow this information twisted until it was "common knowledge" that he'd sent three different guys to the hospital, resulting in him becoming an outcast at school. And in Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai - Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen, Ishigami is treated by most people in his grade as a dangerous, creepy stalker due to an event when he confronted another guy who was cheating on his girl, and the guy managed to provoke him into attacking him then twist things around so it looked like he was stalking the girl.

You might want to check out Real no Heroine wa Irimasen! if you haven't already. What you're talking about factors quite heavily into the story.
