I'm 17, straight and I like to read hentai once in a while, but there are some things I avoid, like the futanari thing. It's a little too much for me... I'm okay with tentacles and other stuff though biggrin. Oh, no... beast things/furries/etc. And I like it when the guy's handsome lol...
After reading though, I feel... really weird. Like I shouldn't be reading that and all... plus... hentai kinds of turns me on... and I feel bad about that (what am I even doing here haha OTL).
I don't know why I like it though.

I enjoy reading hentai now and then, mostly depend on the artwork. Yes. I judge book by its cover. Though I avoid those futanari thing too, it just look so weird.. confused Honestly, it's more of a closet hobby. I dont think my family or friends will approve of me reading those though. biggrin

Just an additional info, women don't enjoy rape NO MATTER WHAT. Period.

i got into real hentai after reading futari ecchi and some straight shota. but i don't like hentai with mind break, guro or scat. i like it if the manga has shounen/shoujo/seinen/josei like art rather than some filthy seijin style art.

Speaking from a guys point of view I think it's sexy when a woman can admit to liking hentai. Women have been stereotyped for so long as being prudes when it comes to sex that it's nice to see a woman who is confident enough to admit her desires.

If they can play games, watch/read Porn, then surely there are Women who read/watch Hentai.

I Just don't know any that do the latter.

P.S. I once had to explain to a female gamer the myth about female gamers...

i really enjoyed reading this thread, helps us "H" readers know we're not so alone out there, I've always wondered as a bi person why people got so worked up over gender differences, and i use to think one way or another but there are so many exceptions to social conventions!
Like i finally settled on the conclusion the only physical psychological difference between male/female really came down to just the gonads, BUT that completely ignores the existence of transgendered people across societies!

Between cultures, women, and men - It seems the world is so vast and diverse, but our eechi perversions and shared lust are just another thing that appears to bring us all together. bigrazz

I love hentai - ever since I watched it for the 1st time!! biggrin

The problem is, I'm getting a little tired of the same ol'rape scene, where women are portraited as weak and pure
I have the same problem too, though not all hentai is like that. I have watched quite a few hentai anime I liked (I now prefer anime to manga since they don't have a lot of fluids everywhere).

I think the reason is that hentai is made for Japanese guys. Sadly, because of their culture, they prefer weak and pure women. Though not all women are like that and the Japanese guys don't even have to require women to be like that IRL, it's a fantasy that can turn them on instead of off. It a very sad truth.
clearly you two are missing out on the reverse rape category shy

I've also been accused of not outgrowing my fascination with cartoons, but I love the drawn representation of the world. It lends a particular atmosphere that is often lacking in real life.

That's absolutely right! It's why I read manga, too... I always find it difficult to point out exactly what that "particular atmosphere" is, but I think it's the joy of seeing life interpreted in new and interesting ways. Art makes us view life with renewed interest... Well, that's my opinion, anyway. Human faces, when drawn with an artist's hand, reveal fascinating secrets that real faces often manage to hide...

I've always had a *healthy* interest in porn, but find that most women find the subject shocking. Perhaps it is social conditioning. If so, how did we, the women who enjoy hentai and porn, break it?

Yeah, I've wondered about that. It's obvious that social conditioning discourages women from being honest with themselves about their desires, but for some reason there are always a few stubborn women (like you and me, I guess!) who don't fall for the whole women-are-dainty-and-pure thing. We certainly aren't sex-obsessed demons, but we aren't pure, either... We're just ordinary people with ordinary desires! Why women have to be placed apart from sexual discourse is something I don't understand.

After all, if the world expects us to have sex, it should also be all right for us to talk about it and to enjoy doing it. These ideas about feminine purity and frigidity seem pointless. Elsewhere (somewhere above this comment) it was said that I shouldn't take such remarks seriously, but I'm afraid that these casual and/or joking remarks are just symptoms of a greater misunderstanding about women. That's why I spoke up; I wouldn't have bothered, otherwise.

It's really odd, how society has completely polar opposite ideas about women... On the one hand, they're treated as if they're pure, and on the other hand, they're treated as sexual objects. These extreme misinterpretations seem bizarre to me.

Men are also misinterpreted by society -- they, too, are forced to adopt gender roles that not all men are comfortable with. The ideal of the "working man" and the ideal of the "stoic father," as well as the concept of sexual prowess being a token of masculinity. It's weird that a guy who has sex with a lot of women is often considered more masculine than a guy who has sex with just a few women. Why? I don't think it's fair or rational. Similarly, a guy who can physically dominate over other people is often considered manlier. This is also weird, considering that many perfectly respectable men are gentle at heart. They shouldn't be forced to "act tough" just because they need to get a manly reputation. What the hell...

I think that one of the main challenges of life is trying to reconcile completely opposite ideas about gender. People actually try to live up to ideas that are contradictory; no wonder they're stressed out! A woman must be "pure" but must also be "attractive" -- a man must be "aggressive" but must also be a "protector".

Argh, gender roles in general make me want to pull my hair out.

The rift between reality and ideology is still a wide one. It would be pleasant if this rift were to narrow, and if people's ideas about themselves were to become more realistic. Maybe one day, we'll view ourselves as individuals, rather than as sets of labels. That's all I can hope for. smile

agreed ^_^ bump for humanity

I read smut and yaoi. I have read some hentai but the stuff I've found is very male-fantasy dominated. Not that I'm looking for romance or story--that's not what hentai is for. What I'm looking for is sex, sex, sex. eyes But I'm not so keen on, for example:
-covering the woman's body with semen
-pumping so much semen into her that her belly literally swells
-peeing while having sex
-squirting
-etc.
That stuff is meant to appeal to men, and holds no interest for me. no

I've looked at some threads, but haven't really found what I'm looking for. It seems like there is no such thing as hentai or equivalent hard-core manga geared towards the heterosexual female fantasy. If any of the female posters here have recommendations for hentai that is geared towards women then please go ahead and recommend.

I guess I'm also wondering: what do women who read hentai like about it? confused

It doesn't do much for me, and if I ever do read some I have to be really careful in my selections since there's a lot of stuff out there that I really don't want to see.

I've always wondered why they often show semen being squirted directly into the uterus; by my knowledge that is physically impossible, and not at all favourable if the goal is to reproduce; since semen would alter the level of acidity inside the uterus, which is not in favour of successfully reproducing as it is harmful to the zygote.
If I recall correctly, the cervix secretes some sort of mucous that forms a thick blob of slime that seals off the uterus from external threats. This blob of slime is impermeable and only forms tiny canals during the female's fertile period to allow the spermatozoa to enter. Even if intercourse happened to occur during the female's fertile period, it seems highly unlikely to me that there would be enough pressure to force the semen through the tiny canals at considerable speed.

I'm a girl, 21, bi, and I watch hentai anime from time to time (I usually don't read hentai manga, although I'm obsessed with yaoi). I've been watching porn on a regular basis for a while now, since like 12 or 13 (way before I should have). I guess what I like about it is that you get a bit of a storyline along with the sex. There are some things about hentai I'm not really into, but those things are more based on cultural differences. Like, as mentioned above, a lot of hentai is based on rape scenarios and the girls are weak or passive. I don't mind that from time to time, but I don't like that most of hentai seems to be that way. Or even when its not rape, the girl is kind of resisting is more likely to yell "no" or "stop" rather than "yes" or "more". And I've also come across some hentai where the guy says something like "I'm going to get you pregnant" and that really freaks me out. I don't get it. Is that a common fantasy for men, because I would assume most guys are trying to keep a girl from getting pregnant.

I LOVE GOOD HENTAI! Recently, I spent HOURS browsing through hentai scanslation sites searching for any hentai with Seinen/shoujo-ish artstyles and physically attractive male leads. The mainstream hentai tires me though....it's like having the same experience when reading through cliche infested Yaoi mangas, it was difficult to find something 'unique' but once you found it, it was all worth it.

womenz? on my intarwebs?

This is exactly what was meant by mellow on that earlier comment. He wasn't suggesting that there couldn't be a women that likes hentai and/or pr0n but he was more surprised that there was actually a girl on the internet. Which by definition has a higher than 75% chances to be just a guy pretending to be a girl.
Well, it was more of a joke you, know and a running gag on the internet. So you didn't really have to take it seriously.
On the matter of girls liking hentai or not... well I can't help I'm not a girl, but from what I know of them... They are even bigger pervs than us guys, they can just hide it better.
(And well guys do have a problem controlling themselves... I guess that when the blood goes down to do something, there isn't enough blood left in the head to think clearly)

this made me laugh, but hell you are right, we can hide that very well *innocent look* laugh

I think part of the reason yaoi has become so popular is because it's like hentai for the female readership, particularly the straight female readership. Most hentai tends to eroticize women, while yaoi eroticizes men -- so naturally many women will be interested in yaoi. But hey, there are those of us that also like hentai. It's true that I'm a dyke, but a lot of female hentai fans are perfectly straight! Hot porn is hot porn, hentai or otherwise. A lot of people, regardless of gender, are bound to enjoy it.

i realize that you probably arent even on here any more but just in case you are - that 'yaoi eroticizes men' part is really interesting - and clarifies things a bit for me

I think it's more a psychological thing, because it could symbolize a sense of male dominance. He's managed to stick it in long enough to ejaculate and once he's done that a part of him has been left inside her as if permanently. It shows it because it's a visual that reinforces the idea of almost invading the woman he's most likely just seduced into sex, though at times I find it quite comical that these attractive woman are persuaded out of their clothes by a bumbling, red-faced pervert as if that's the fantasy they've been waiting for all this time. That's one of the reasons hentai sometimes turns me off. It looks like the guy is some creepy pervert who spends hours looking at porn magazines and ads that tell men how to enlarge their penis with a pump. Yuck.
