I'm not scared of aging... but I am afraid of dying. I'd rather have a natural death or something along those lines.

100 years? you get like 50, then you get to be too old to do things decently.

toss off training at the early years and such, its 40 years, from like 15-55 maybe 50 if you push it to 65, upwards of 70 if you are lucky

and during your working years you only get what, weekends, holidays and 2 weeks vacation? kinda cuts into your 'me' time there

just saying 100 years is a silly number not based in reality.

and 400 years is more or less considered enough, anything more and people would start causing trouble making things to do.

After seeing how people try to preserve their fresh-faced youth by painful looking methods such as going under the knife, becoming plastic or injecting stuff into their body in order to deny reality via cosmetic surgery, I’d prefer growing old with dignity and comfort.

Having said that, at the moment it truly sucks seeing people being treated like shit in the care system, neglected by selfish families / relatives before being likely starved / euthanized against their will once their usefulness to society has run out upon growing weak or losing their minds due to age (though a lucky few are very healthy and happy in both body and mind).

Perhaps one day, the aging process will become inconsequential since people will be able to remain both physically and mentally active as they get older along with finding pain-free methods of preserving youth and avoiding senescence, such as body swapping / mind uploading and other advances.

I'm not afraid to get older, per say. I actually look forward to it. However, I'm deathly scared of my body failing on me. I'll take wrinkles and such, but being the notion of being unable to even walk 3 feet to the bathroom scares the shit out of me.

My aunt is 100 years old and she pretty much does everything by herself. (not making this up)

100 is normal now, my generation would probably and easily break over that barrier. I'm immortal anyway (refer to my last post), and 60 is the new 40. In my country you don't see 1 old man that is at bad shape at that age, my uncle smoked his whole life and lived by his self perfectly fine till he turn 70 (and he has a terrible tumour in his lungs)

What's helding back the chart of life expectancy (sadly) is the 3d word, bad youth, bad elderly.

Still not afraid to get older.
I'm starting to lose my boyband charm though.
Life starts when you turn older.
You don't need to take care of kids anymore, you don't give a fuck about those useless things that you thought mattered when you were young and you have more time to spend on matters that you actually find important. The old were born old. If you have nothing to do when you get old, that just means you never had anything to do, just your job, watching TV when you had free time, just drifting apathetically, a boring life where you only did what you were told to do, that's why you're left with nothing when you only have what you created. If your limbs still work as you age, better use them, experience new stuff. Of course you're going to have a bad time if you just wait for your death. Life is for the living and death for the dead. Things will change, but you've gotten this far already, haven't you.

The only thing about aging, for me, is the lack of ability to do things independently, and do the things I like to do. Biking, walking, jogging, tennis--anything, really. I'd like to be able to do those types of things when I'm older. I also don't want my mind to lose its viability.

But as for the gain of wrinkles and all that, I don't think I could care any less than I do. I don't fear dying either--though I'd prefer a less painful way, as anyone would.

Yup... for various reasons. Boredom, imagining an comprehensiveness of old age, the fact that I'll need to start obeying various rules and the possible fact that I might need to give up comp completely for my life, no more allowance after 18, what will I do and how will I survive, etc. There's also that what the hell will I do if my parents end up dead. Not that I'm against it but I can't imagine what it'll be like. In general... I DUN WANNA AGE ANYMORE~~ TAT right now is the perfect age of just turning 16, legal age for license but also the last few weeks before my parents sort their stuff out and I gotta face reality...

Well, there's also the simple reason that old ppl are ugly, troublesome, and in short a drag. I wanna die early, and I want some ppl to die asap, and there's ppl I don't want to see old and wish they just die or disappear or something.

Being scared of the unknown would fit me best. Getting older not really scary. Scared that my body will stop working before my mind does: Yes. Scared that I might get Alzheimer’s like my Grandma: Yes! Of course the fear of death; on the death part though is more along how am I, and is it going to hurt. none

I am not that afraid to age, in fact I kind of want to die (not now i mean, but as in when the time comes). I just really want to be reincarnated and hopefully with my memories. (gosh i have been reading too many fantasy mangas >.<) I want to age though because I want to grow older, find my true love and stuff like that. I am one of those mushy romance people. In fact, the reason why I continue living is for that reason. I just really hope that after I die, there will be reincarnation of something that isn't sad like the underworld or something. I'm still young, but many things are messed up that I can't change like my terrible eyesight. I'm not afraid to age and die, but I just don't like the pain of losing people you care about.

No.. I'm not scared of aging, I'm not even scared of dying... What does trouble me is pain and also the problem that may come with aging.. I mean, since I was 14 I had back problems (lower back and some times higher too, to the point where I can't stand for more than a few hours without it bugging me to the point where I need to sit), heartburn (acid reflux), horrible memory problems, and various other things.. :/ I am NOT looking forward to the new surprises that I shall face in my twilight years..

yes i am...i know this is going to sound stupid and shallow, but im afraid of growing older because i'd lose my youth and looks
but mentally-wise, its necessary to grow older...there are so many new things im learning every day and looking back just a couple of months ago, i was a completely different person and i wouldnt chose to go back to the person i was then even if it meant slowing down the process of aging

edit: i'd rather not live beyond 40 too
