I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right section, but after reading a fujoshi manga, it got me thinking about the KaworuxShinji couple.

I'm really into pairings that that have potential through the eyes of a fujoshi like myself, especially in shounen series (ex: Reborn, Naruto, Death Note, ect)

But what really got me interested was a shower scene I'd heard about that took place between the two. And it was definitely NOT doujinshi.

Basically, what I would like to know is, for KaworuxShinji fans out there, should I, someone who has never read the manga or watched the anime, watch the anime or read the manga?

I'm not really into shounen, but if there's a possible pairing through the eyes of a fangirl, then you can count me in.eyes

Please give me your suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. biggrin

Ahaha, well, if you really want to get into the pairing, obviously you're going to have watch or read something about them. But, yup, there's KaworuxShinji evidence galore in many variations of the series. Although it's for a short amount of time in the anime(I'm pretty sure that Kaworu had exactly 13 minutes or so total screentime).

A quick run-down as far as KaworuxShinji content in each of the Eva series goes:

(Obviously a spoiler, by the way)

Anime: Only one episode with Kaworu, but there's a confession of love, hand-grabbing in the bath, emotional conversations, gratuitous blushing, the phrase "I may have been born just to meet you", etc.(Aforementioned shower scene was in here, by the way. =w=b) Although I'd recommend that you watch the series in its entirety, even if you're not into shounen anime. Its genre would more accurately be called "psychological" rather than "shounen", anyway.

Original manga by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto: Kaworu's personality does a complete flip, so don't expect the calm, ethereal boy he is in the anime. As far as shounen-ai content goes, this speaks for itself: http://www.onemanga.com/Neon_Genesis_Evangelion/67/15/

Angelic Days/Girlfriend of Steel 2 spin-off manga: There is what is assumed to be an unrequited crush on Kaworu's part, and that's it. It ends terribly for Kaworu. The art and plotline of the thing suck anyway, though, so you're not missing out on anything.

Shinji Ikari Rasing Project/Ikari Shinji Ikusei Keikaku spin-off manga: Kaworu's homosexual overtones are played mostly for parody, but there're a few moments between the two, particularly in the chapter "Stage 00". The plotline of this one isn't great and features mostly panty and bra shots of ASuka and Rei for fanboys, so once again, you're not missing out on much. OTL

Shin Seiki Evangelion Gakuen Datenroku spin-off manga: Kaworu seems like he'll be a possible romantic interest for Shinji thus far(Kaworu seems to have a more cutesy/uke-like personality here on occasion, but that doesn't bother me terribly.) The art/alternate universe/story is actually surprisingly good, so I do recommend this one. It's unique but still has that same sort of dark "Evangelion" feel to it. You can read a translated version on Onemanga as well.

And those are all of the official series that have any KaworuxShinji element to them, as far as I'm aware. If I were you, I'd start with the original anime to get an idea of Kaworu's base personality and the original relationship between the two, and then go on to the manga/spin-off series.

Hope that helped, hope you enjoy it~. shy
