I’m looking for this series, pretty sure it’s an anthology. I know one story is about a family moving to a down because of the fathers new job. The town has these bunkers / shelters all over the place and they do frequent drills. That’s all I remember about that one.

The story, which I think is part of the same series, that I’m really interested in finding is about some plane crash that releases this virus that kills within 24 hours. The whole town gets locked down. The main character is this girl and her family, her brother is a NEET, the city is in chaos, the girl decides to indulge in typical teenage girl things she couldn’t before (like sweets).

And at the end her family burns their house down, along with everything in it, they’re all naked because they are shedding worldly possessions in the wake of death, the whole neighborhood joins in, I think some Christmas song is sung (I wanna say Silent Night).

Then the twist is the virus or whatever has been neutralized and everyone is gonna be fine. That’s where it ends.

Some of the details might be off but that’s the gist of it. Both these stories might not be apart of the same series but I do think I read them at the same time and both had twists.

I found it on my own, it’s Yoshimi Seki Horror Collection. In case anyone else wanted to know.
