Nao has a crush on a senpai who moves away by the end of the manga, while throughout the manga she's getting closer to a boy who has a crush on her. At the very end she sees him with a few other guys shouting their feelings out at an empty beach. She ultimately tells him "Let's both do our best". He is quite confused about the statement, as she basically seems to be saying that she still intends to search for a way to reach and win her senpai's heart but at the same time she's encouraging him to keep trying to change her heart. Along that vein, you'd have a story where the girl for some reason is unwilling to tell the boy to give up even though she hasn't given up on a different romantic pursuit.
Note, that's just an ideal, not a requirement. Anything where the girl knows the boy's feelings but initially doesn't return them or isn't sure is plenty.
One other thing: if the story is finished or has made it far enough to make it clear whether the boy will win her heart, please include that (in spoilers for those that care about that sort of thing).
