I just want to have friends that love to talk about yaoi manga. I read illegally and legally. So when I go to Twitter I can't make friends because illegal readers hate legal readers and vice versa. So much drama there. I joined a bunch of discord, but most are young. I'm almost 30 and I have no energy to keep up with energetic, bright, sparkle yaoi fans. I just wanna talk about how pure this manga or how touching the story is. And maybe talk for couple mins each day would be nice. Can I join your group of friends or be your friend? Haha, I sound so sad but really I want yaoi's friends πŸ˜”

As far as I can tell, we're a pretty quiet community in here, mostly posting ISO topics. However, appreciation posts about authors or themes can usually get us chattering; so, just participate in the community, celebrate the titles, authors, and themes you love, and see who pops up πŸ˜€There are lots of great people in the forum, and they're super adorable and lovely!

I find it difficult to talk in depth about series because I go through a decent number of titles in a short amount of time. I counted 29 titles in the past 6 days, not my best considering I had to work and was at an all day party one of those days... As soon as I finish a work I mark it as completed on here and then immediately move onto the next title.

I am similarly older than a lot of the currently active readers, at 32 years with approx 16 yrs of BL manga under my belt. I see a lot of posts and comments on groups that I'm in, which are just as you mention as being high energy fans. I don't ever really interact with them as my energy levels don't match theirs and our opinions and tastes in BL often differ. Oddly, most of my BL fan interaction comes from a FB group called Weebs Without Context which I post in often, and usually leave small reviews on stuff I read so I converse with people who comment on my posts. I haven't joined any discord groups, but I see a huge number of them shared on BL FB groups that I'm in.

I'm up for conversation, and welcome new friends... but honestly I'm terrible at keeping up with people (mostly forgetfulness) and usually rely on them to keep the conversation going.

So, in a nutshell, I'm cool with being a BL chat partner, but I don't think I'm anyone's first choice lol

Wow, we're pretty similar...

I don't remember exactly when I started reading manga (including yaoi, BL, Girl love...) maybe 12-13 years ago when I was a teenager...? Time has passed so quickly, many things have changed. I can't fit in with readers present because my thoughts and personality and interests have changed.

A few months ago I created new Twitter acc and joined the community there. Arg, so much bickering between legal readers and illegal readers...

Haiz, so sad. Friends who also read and play with me have grown up and are all busy with personal things. 😒 I haven't talked to a yaoi's friend with similar interests in many many years...

It's late to say that but do you want to make friends? If you see the reply and are interested, we can dm...

Hi. I can understand how you feel. I too am in my 30s, but with no one to talk about BL/yaoi with, I can feel frustated when I've just read a really good yaoi manga but not having anyone to discus it with.
For example, I've just read a really good manga, sure it has a lot of H-moments but you could still feel the pure feelings they had for eachother. And it also took up something I've thought of before, how it would be if someone from our universe got sent to a world in the "omegaverse". ☺☺

So I would be happy to talk about this with you.

And don't worry about the legal/illegal way of reading. I have no problems with it. (My only problem is that I can't really get the legal versions of the one's I like. 😜😜)
