It's unfortunate that we all can't see how it ends. I also feel bad because the fans are demanding for it, while his health condition makes him take continuous breaks.

RIP, thank you, and goodbye. Berserk is one of the most extraordinary works I've ever come across.

Rest in peace. Your touch on the manga world will be sorely missed. Berserk has inspired so much of what came after, in all manner of media.

If only he focused more on Berserk rather than his side projects, we could have at least see the ending right now. Either way RIP. 😢

Wow, I honestly can't believe it. I still remember him saying about Berserk having a Happy Ending, too. RIP. You are a Legend.

This really came as a shock to me. I can't believe we'll never see the end of berserk now.

Rest in peace great author.

RIP in pepperoni. I dropped Berserk years ago, but I do recall binging like 20 volumes in 2 days when I started. Miura didn't exactly lead a healthy life and he'd been hospitalized multiple times for overworking and neglecting his health in general. Didn't come as a surprise that he didn't get to end his work.

Ultimately not a surprise. A shame as "only" the ending of this arc and the next one remained but that is perfectionism for you. He switched to digital years ago to speed up his process but ended up manipulating pixels as he now could. That is the man Miura was and he worked like a man possed till age 40 or so before he ended up slowing down his schedule.

Miura´s effect on pop culture is immeasurable despite Berserk being his single major work. Simply finishing the pages he made so-called "Names" for (panel breakdowns) and releasing author notes is enough for me. Ending or not. The message of the work still comes through. I´ll remember the manga and Miura by my Brand of Sacrifice tattoo. Look up some of the interviewers he gave over the decades. He was more talkative than some think.
Dune didn´t end. Tezuka´s Phoenix didn´t. And now Berserk. RIP Miura. Your watch has ended.

If I can try to squeeze some sort of positivity from this shocker I got slapped with today, that would be perhaps in the case of Miura-san finishing his work properly, there was always be the possibility that the ending would have been undesirable in some way or an other, and now that we don't know the ending we are just left with the amazing work, and it will always be remembered as such, sort of immortalized beauty.
I will always remember reading his work as one of my most interesting experiences in life.
