There's this one series by the same mangaka of HYD called Cat Street. It's pretty touching and funny. Definitely a great shoujo. Oh, Vampire Juuji Kai, Bamboo Blade, 7 Seeds, Beauty Pop, Divine Melody, Fairy Cube, Eden no Hana, My Girl, Orfina, Ryo, Bride of the Water God, Shion no Ou, Tsuki no Shippo, Vanilla Ice, and Variante are all good shoujo series. Well, I like them a lot. Oh, and Yawara is good too, but it's an older series with sports in it. I'm not sure if you'll like my suggestions, but Cat Street, Bride of the Water God, and Ryo are must-reads.
