Smut isn't usually porn, it's just a story with some sexual content. Eromanga for women is called ladies' comics or redikomi. They are intended to be used as porn and they can get very explicit, with cutaway vaginas and body fluids everywhere, and they are similar to hentai in that the male is often not visible during sex scenes, but they don't tend to be quite as hard or as varied as hentai. What's more, they have romantic storylines, which most hentai don't really bother with.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a title where the woman tops, though. Almost all of it is virginal girls getting raped...

There's no hentai especially made for women. Like all other genres, you could like some and don't like some. I believe a lot are not that gender specific but will depend on the individual's taste and what you are after. For example, some of the hentai I like have orgies while I guess you are probably not into that. And I don't like all orgy henai. It will depend on how it's done to me.

Art style perhaps is also important. I can't take certain art styles and exaggerated body parts (some even have women with big muscles O_O) but they can be liked by others. If you are looking for a good story, you are probably in the wrong place since it's not the purpose of hentai. Bear in mind that hentai is sex. Those who are not comfortable with sex should stay away from them.

If you after romantic/fluffy sorylines, you'd better look elsewhere. I read hentai/doujinshi and like some. And I am female. But I don't read hentai looking for that sort of thing.

Some hentai do have a relatively decent story, e.g. Berry Ecstasy but that story is probably not everybody's liking. At least I am not that impressed but I admit the story is indeed a bit meaningful. Here's another one with a somewhat "good" plot: Miwaku no Tobira, and this author does make some good hentai scenarios. But I strongly dislike the way they are drawn, esp. the body fluids.

@Revi_Malsaneta
You should give her a few "redikomi" titles since she seems to be looking for those types.

These threads might be helpful:
softcore hentai
Hentai for females

I do like some of the soft ones and hentai doujinshi, esp. those with art styles I like. But if you are not in an "adult" mindset to appreciate them for what they are, you will probably not like them either, I think.

And no, I am not interested in smut like those by ANISAKI Yuna, etc (I am too lazy to list those smut authors). They are not porn to me (but that's not the point). They don't show anything. And the stories are boring/even worse than hentai but might be interesting to some shoujo readers. If you find it hot then it's porn to you, no matter how inexplicit it is. embarrassed

I am taking a safe bet and will give you a few soft ones with art styles and scenarios I like (interesting/meaningful or funny): Kaisouroku, Delicacy, QG - Q-to Girls, Koi kara Hajimaru (this is not really hentai but an adult manga. I like the stories.). You could PM me for recommendations if you want doujinshi which are funny and hilarious (those are the type of hentai I like most). I rarely read original hentai these days.

roll eyes Of course, hentai for women means softcore and romantic. *cough*

Porn in general is not gender specific, although it does seem to target male audiences a lot. There are those of us that do realize that women do in fact watch porn, and read hentai. We don't just sit around all day reading erotic novels with fabio on the cover. Another stereotype, of course...But my point is that there are people that realize this, and they make hentai that women will like as much as men.

You'll just have to read a lot of hentai, find some authors and genres you like, push aside the rape and tentacles.

I suppose hentai for women would have more focus on the male, or even more focus on the female, because the females are usually just plot devices. Other than that, it really depends on your own preferences. And once you do find this "hentai for women" I bet it will be softcore, romantic bull. And then you'll regret it. laugh

You might like stuff like this
Aneki...
Blood Lunch
Boy Soprano
Hatsu Inu (laugh) Maybe, good story though.

Oh, I'm not particularly interested in reading any of it... I'm just wondering if such a thing exists. Gender issues and whatnot. But thanks for the recs. ^^'

I said hentai had no good stories - but that's when compared with the best manga plots in other genres I read (they shouldn't be compared due to the difference in genres). I actually find a lot of hentai/doujinshi have better plots and art than many shoujo/romance/smut or harem/ecchi. embarrassed

Even tho im not female, i do usually enjoy the more romantic and only one pair type of hentai. Im more of a softcore type of person cause those other ones are just too extreme for me.

But she was asking for hentai, not smut. They are completely different things.

i wonder if that's why yaoi is so popular? (focus on the male characters) i'm bi so i guess i wouldn't really understand the gender specifics biggrin

hmmm, male focused porn?
Aishiteruze Baby - (more drama than eechi, but i thought that made this story better)
Boy Soprano (mentioned already)
Shounen Teikoku (kind of harem, but author does alotta shota oneshots though :/)
Secret Journey(also kind of harem, but author does alotta shota oneshots though :/)
Witchcraft
Take on Me (the boy isn't very likable at first though - until he gets much deserved punishment wink )

lots of examples in oneshot manga too laugh

i really wonder about the same damn thing and i have yet to find anything. Great romance with hot and explicit sex. The closest i have foung is baby pink by sawara cashy... plot is kinda lame tho, Anyways so i have come to the conclusion that manga is just like the movie world too, i consider smut to be just rated R romance, while hentai is rated XXX and rarely geared towards women specifically. Unfortunatly i have yet to have come acrossed a good romance with some XXX romance... so i just think that is doesnt exist ...

sad I've been searching for a good romance manga with great sex scenes too. I mean... yeah, I tried reading hentai manga but I always quit halfway. There seemed to be something missing that even though the art was great I just didn't feel like continuing reading. roll eyes

Try Ne.To.Ge (Lovers in Cyber World)
-The art, the romance, the plot, the conversations, and even the comedy is quite plausible. I think this is a hentai series that both males and females will like to read.

The author is known for his exposure of creativity, nudity and romance.
