this story isn't about good and bad. it's about discovering the shades of grey. the hero of the story showing sympathy to her is a large clue. (i love that he's a counselor, btw)

the mother, for instance had a lot going on behind the scenes. on the surface she was "bad" but that was after only a shallow glance. a deeper look shows us more.

a person who does bad things isn't automatically bad. and, while maliciousness has been a defining characteristic for Hana so far, we don't know the cause yet. i hope- more than getting her comeuppance, Hana will improve as a person.
