Good for you Lemon. Why do you defend Narutofan so much? Are you an affiliate? A deranged fanboy? Did Taz save your mom from a burning building? If you want to use it, go ahead. Start your own thread on how great Narutofan is. I personally see a problem with that site and want to discuss how to resolve it with other like minded people. I don't feel like arguing the reasons anymore. We all have our reasons for liking and disliking it. What is your goal here? To make us all say "Gosh we never realized how great Narutofan was, please take my $5". That is not going to happen.

Its quite simple, it doesnt matter if you like the speed or whatever. The point is the site is having people pay money to download illegal stuff faster that was made illegally by other people. There is pretty much a code of ethics to not make a profit off of anime/manga since it is illegal and making a profit will not only put that site but those who scaned or subbed into the eyes of the lawyers of the people who make it in the first place as well.

Quote from lemondude
I do know how dude, irc, but not all the group shave xdcc, and some just don't have the older releases on xdcc.
#lurk has xdcc. And that channel has almost every manga ever scanlated

This is just a warning:
You guys better watch it. It's starting to get...HOT (for the lack of a better word). Especially with lemondude (no offense to you, dude). It's great that you're debating and all, but NO WARS.
Edit: Why did you have to be me to it, Manick?...

The warning is to prevent the start of fighting.
And lemondude, you've been at the center of the conversation for the last few posts, whether you deny it or not. (Of course, Tazmo is also there...but that's a given)

no problemo. Then let the Lemon calm the people by saying tazmo is easy to stop, all we have to do is create our own site, that is better than his.
Which is I'm planning to do, and if any of you want to help, that'll be great. BTW I don't need financial support.

I think the point of why so many people dislike Tazmo is twofold. He charges people for the work of others. Not just to cover bandwidth but for profit!
And second of all he removes the credit pages making it seem like he's the one providing for it. So he profits from other peoples work and not giving credit to those that put their own free time for it!
If you ask me that's just morally wrong and I don't see why we shouldn't try to at least inform people and keep up with the spirit of the manga community. I mean isn't it _illegal_ to do what Tazmo is doing?
At least with scanlations it's mostly unlicensed manga and groups often says in credit pages to support the mangakas by buying the manga. Just my 2 cents on the matter.

Meh. IMO it's not for the manga people pay for the convenience of NarutoFan (especially since the links to the latest Naruto and Bleach manga don't require a paid membership). Rather, I say, it's for the ease of directly downloading 174-250Mb anime files from one site that has a very fast connection which is more work-friendly (cough) than logging into IRC or running a BitTorrent client. I think the fansubbing community would have to step up. They could, at least, put warnings or ads in their encodings. My two cents. And I'm not going to read the rest of this thread.

Have you ever seen a fansub? Most already put up warnings within the encoding. And since Naruto/Bleach is basically the most popular in terms of downloads, then it's DB's stuff that people usually get. And DB's encodings DO have warnings. The thing is, do people watch through the OP to the end to see the warning?

Ok, I lied. One last look and I have to leave work soon so no more lookies from me here.
To clarify: I mean warnings against NarutoFan. And rather than putting warnings in at the end or between the karaoke credits and episode start, they could easily use the break halfway through the episode where they normally put in a little advertisement for their own fansub group to put a little symbol saying no NarutoFan.

Anyone wanna get that petition started? Who here has influence in the anime AND manga community with fansubbers and scanlators besides Manick and me? (Both of us already have our work cut out~)
