When I search the forum (either from the "Search Forums" button at the top of the page or the specific forum search at the bottom) for 2 or more words, the results I get have word1 or word2. For example, I just searched the forums (using "Search Forums" button) for "long yaoi" and I got posts that had "yaoi," posts that had "long," and posts that had both words in them. Not strictly posts that had both words in them.

When I search for more than one word, what I want are posts that have all words in them. Is there a way to fix this, or am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else noticed this? It makes it really hard to search for something specific in the forums when you're limited to one word.

Use Exact Match not Full Text in Search Method.

I tried that but that searches for the the exact phrase you typed. What I mean is to search for all words but not necessarily the exact phrase. Does that make sense? Example: I typed in "long yaoi", clicked the exact match button, and got 3 results. But if I type "yaoi long" I don't get any results. This "exact match" feature is handy but not what I was looking for. I want the option to search for all posts with both word1 and word2 somewhere in the post.

Also, it would be nice to be able to search with more options within a specific forum. For example, I search for things in the "I'm Looking For..." forum all the time, and would like to have more options for it (i.e. exact match, topic titles only, etc.)

Hmm, well I'm not sure how you did it, but I searched "long yaoi" in the Yaoi section and the results showed topics/posts with both words (not necessarily phrased together). Though to be honest for this type of search there is no need to add "yaoi" just "long" is enough if you do so in the Yaoi section. Doing it this way actually guarantees more results. =)

But I do agree that having some type of 'Advanced search by forum section' would be handy, especially for the I'm Looking For...section. There seems to be an increase in this section and more than half of the newer threads are just basic repeats of older threads. But then there are those that don't even bother to use the forum search. -___-

Yes, I agree. That section is a wonderful archive but it's getting hard to look through it. An advance search would be very useful there.

Maybe looking further into the future and thinking of a way to 'tag' series to 'I'm looking for..' threads/questions instead of merely listing them could narrow the chaos down at a later point in time.

Yeah, but those people shouldn't be the standard used for suggestions. Can't help that there are always newbies who really don't know and many lazy ones as well and sometimes you just can't think of the correct terms for a accurate search. Blah .__.
