Quote from BlackOrion
Not been able to notice when someone is a spy:

MC: Guys, meet my new frind, "Spy"

Spy: I'm going to stab all of you in your sleep.

Smart best friend of MC: I don't trust him.

MC: GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW!

Looks pretty cliché until the end, when Yukimura becomes a antihero with evil powers (because of his encounter with a spy) while beating his best smart friend.

Quote from BlackOrion
A-chan: MC WAKE UP!, i knew you since we were little kids, your hole name is Yukimura MainCharacter and i'm A-chan, i'm a tsundere and i'm in love with you in secret, you have never been able to wake up early. Also, i just take a shit

MC: Can you please stop telling me all this every morning?

(the mangaka could come out with some new idea for the charactes intruduccion)

Not been able to notice obvious facts:

Mr.Otosan: MC, i'm your father, but i can't tell you i'm your father for some really REALLY stupid crap, so i won't tell you about that. You have the eyes of your mother btw.

MC: How come you know that i have a mother?

And in the other hand when they notice them, they were just a coincidence after another that lead to a confusion

MC: You kill her!, i saw you killing her with that bloody knife in your hand, i supected you from the beginning, and i saw when you drop her body in the forest.

The "victim": You got it all wrong MC, he was just showing me his knife collection, then i happen to felt like throwing ketchup over his knife and my body, when and urge of jumping in the forest in the middle of the night made me ask him for a ride,

MC: How silly of me.

You gonna tell me that you never read a manga in which the mc believed the word of some random unknown new guy, who happen to be really cool and good at things, rather than in his best friend because he tough his best friend was just "jealous"?

Actually, I've read plenty of manga about that trope, but most of them I've never understand what they are doing that trope.

So, if I could imagine like that :
Average-looking highschool student getting a sudden word from some incredibly hot chick who happens to be the school idol but she's secretly a mutant.

cliche....all shounen lol...just kidding...

search of incredible power...

context: the MC is not so strong, then become stronger...the bad guy is the strongest to be ever known...eventualy the MC beat the Bad guy..(so logicaly he should be the strongest now)..but another bad guy show up stronger than MC..and so on and on, until the manga end...

T_T that's just so lame..I mean when your punch is destroying a planet..aint any good..

That's why we'll have an action shounen that isn't about the search of incredible power and has a MC who have the same strength than the enemy so he/she would really kick the bad guys' ass so easily.

Shonnen martial arts Manga cliche that really annoys me.

MC training to be the bestest "insert martial art" ever.

Bullies appear and beat the shit out of MC even though he is stronger than them, but he doesn't want to defend himself because that's "violence". MC gets beaten up a couple more times.

Random civilian or girl/friend interferes and tells the bullies to stop beating MC.

Bullies proceed to beat the girl. MC now has been authorized to beat the bullies up, because now he is "protecting" someone. MC wins "insert I will protect you speech" .

That goddamned f@cking nosebleed.

I hate that cliche with everything my mind has. I wish brutal death on that cliche's existence and punishment on those who like it. It's stupid, makes no sense and is never followed by anything positive to the story or remotely funny.

On a lesser but usually related note, so much freaking shouting and overreaction. "THE LOUDER A JOKE IS THE FUNNIER IT IS RIGHT??!!!! RIGHT!!!??"

your joke is probably right..
Too many cliches have been mentioned here and every shounen has some of it
shounen storyline = cliche

EDIT: I'd like to add another one while I'm at it

There's a fight between let's say 2 great warriors
the bystanders consisting of farmer, townsfolk, housewives will start to say
"Incredible, this is really a fight of [input name here] warriors"
the hell? how dare they say something so irresponsible like that while this is the first time the see such a fight?
ignorant bastards trying to make a speech about only an expert is allowed to.

Not all shounen are cliché, there's some of them that aren't cliché.

Definitely been posted earlier but the worst cliches IMO:

1. all the strongest fighters are around the MC's age (which, seeing as it's shounen, is usually 14-15)
2. MC can't kill because it's wrong
3. constantly better fighters popping up (which might be true in the real world too...but c'mon) and the previous "unbeatable, godly" rival ends up being worth nothing roll eyes

You've probably read FMA
And I also highly recommend Ares.

I read both FMA and Ares (also Muryeong and Nephilim from Keum cheol), and even tough they are excellent (that is not at discussion here), a lot of clichés that are named here appear in both.

An example been how some of the strongest warriors in the word are around Ares age (cliche that was named by some one a few post ago)

I'm not saying they are not original but it is also true that is hard for a manga to be shonen and have no clichés.

the redemption cylce: 1.you hate/dislike a character 2. you find out more about them 3. you start to like them 4. they do something good and start to redeem themselves 5. you learn more and start to really like the character 6. then, just as you realize how much you enjoy having that person, they die; usually saving the main, a friend, a lover, an enemy, the world, or whatever it is that's in danger.
this cycle is why i hate liking the bad guys or those who come off as unlikeble to others, sooner or later they are going to die! this also happens to the cool old people. as for examples...anyone you've ever liked in naruto and was legitimately pissed that they died. which is nearly all the good guys.

Lone wolf-emo crap. Personally, I say the perfect example of that type is Sasuke from Naruto.
I'm sorry, he's not bad-ass, he's every teenage emo crap I experienced in high school. Boo-woo, life sucks, boo-woo, life is painful, boo-woo, I don't like myself.
I'M SORRY THINGS DIDN'T TRUN OUT YOUR WAY, BUT DON'T TELL ME YOUR PROBLEMS! YOU GOT A PROBLEM, DEAL WITH IT! mad
