Which shoujo manga has the best art? Which mangaka's art to you love?

I like Shimotsuki Kayoko (Coelacanth, C-Blossom - Case 729)

Akizuki Sorata (Akagami no Shirayukihime)

Nanba Atsuko (Senpai to Kanojo, Sprout)

Konami Shouko (Shinobi Life)

Watanabe Ayu (Kimi ga Suki, Otomegokoro)

Motomi Kyousuke (Dengeki Daisy, Beast Master)

Obata Yuuki (Bokura ga Ita)

Sakisaka Io (Strobe Edge)

Shiina Karuho (Kimi ni Todoke)

Tanemura Arina (Shinshi Doumei Cross , Full Moon wo Sagashite)

Yuki Kaori (Ludwig Kakumei, Angel Sanctuary )

Hino Matsuri (Merupuri,Vampire Knight)

Yoon Mi-kyung The Bride of the Water God

And everything by Yumeka Sumomo is incredibly beautiful! I also love Souryo Fuyumi, although I have only read one shoujo from her - Mars. I do love her seinen stuff along with Sahara Mizu's.

That turned out to be quite long! laugh I didn't think there were so many...

Now list your favourite art in shoujo! biggrin

Well I like all of the art in shoujo, but especially 70's shoujo art. It is absolutely mesmerizing. TANEMURA Arina is my favorite modern shoujo art. And I really like TAKEUCHI Naoko's art. I love the flowing art of her works.

Well, with shoujo, a lot of the art either looks exactly the same or really different.
For me, I really like the art in The Bride of the Water God and Evyione. You could say I love manhwa art. laugh

Yuki Kaori for me, hands down. Followed by Tanemura Arina. (No Yazawa Ai, otherwise she would be my favorite.) I like a lot of the other series on that list, but more for the stories than the art.

If we're just going with art, Aki, hands down. Her art is absolutely gorgeous.

I agree that art by Hino Matsuri and Yoon Mi-kyung (although she does manhwa) are beautiful, but...I can't think of any others at the top of my head laugh
Wait a minute, CLAMP also has beautiful, detailed art (looked at my avatar)!

Definition of good art for me means showing the emotion of "crying/lonely but trying to smile anyway" in the most perfect way possible.

With this criterion in mind, I have to say these mangaka take the cake....

Sakisaka Io (Strobe Edge)
Shiina Karuho (Kimi ni Todoke)
Akizuki Sorata (Akagami no Shirayukihime)
Hino Matsuri (Merupuri,Vampire Knight)

But of course we know that Nakamura-sensei (Skip Beat) and Nicky Lee's The One are awesome too!

These are the ones I love:

YUKI Kaori; especially God Child and Ludwig Kakumei. Such exquisite detail.

TAKAYA Natsuki, Fruits Basket. After a while I thought all the Sohma guys started to look like each other, but on the whole I loved it.

AIHARA Miki, Hot Gimmick Her reaction shots are priceless.

HIGURI You, Cantarella is scrumptious.

Well- I don't usually read romance manga (I'm more into seinen and josei) so I'm probably missing out on a lot of good art. From what I have read;

Yuki Kaori's art has a nice gothic style which I like.

Odagiri Hotaru's is pretty good in Betrayal Knows My Name

Am I the only one who likes CLAMP's more recent art style?
