Alright, so reading the comments I feel as if we need a discussion about this manga.

Alright so to anyone who has read this manga we all know that the plot is pretty weak, the concept of the manga has been recycled a few times and so the originality of it isn't that great either. I mean sure hot teacher and an abnormal student, I'm pretty sure almost everyone has read something like this if you were a constant reader, but I'd rather not get into a talk about originality since it really is hard to find something unique with an original concept.

Moving on, The art work I love it. TBH I'm just a fan of Yugo's artwork, it has its own depth and it is detailed to the bone. That might be an overstatement but well I'm a bit biased on artwork.

The characters themselves are not anything special themselves. The werewolf, alright so he looks like a wolf in human form, he likes being left alone, and he's a "cool" type. The teacher, she is hot and she has a traumatic incident happen in her life. The "thugs" nothing really to say about them, they're just like any other goonies although they are funny to look at. Class chick, not much about her either slut, skank, whore, and power lover. Thug boss, he looks the part and acts the part, oh wait he really is a soon-to-be yakuza boss, who would've thought that.
As I said, nothing significant about the characters, nothing really sticks out at you.

Anyways moving onto the subject of the matter, the plot, the actual plot and the events within it. I fail to see it, I hope this manga is not trying to tell me that a werewolf is getting bullied at school by regular humans is the plot of this manga. So far, as I can tell it is that this werewolf is rejected by society and can't so he tries to find haven in school? Although one thing I do find interesting is the werewolf fighting yakuza boss.

Any how, if you feel as if I am wrong about any of these or have something to say about it, please post so we can discuss it.

On a side note, I honestly thing that the teacher and student love thing needs to speed up, give the werewolf emotions and let him ravage the teacher already.

Well, from the raws, I can say that the manga is not just about a werewolf being bullied by delinquents. He is not bullied, he simply chooses not to fight back (as seen in chapter one, he could kill them all very easily).

Spoiler (highlight to view)
This does play a fairly large part, and ends in an attack on the school, wounding many students. This leads to the werewolf leaving school. The teacher then follows after him, while finding out about his tragic past. This, I would assume, will lead to the romance.

By the way, you did leave out the highly original class rep, who wears glasses.

The raws are up to 70 or so. There may be 200 chapters...you don't want them to spoil everything right away do you?

You've voiced all of my concerns about this manga. As you point out, the characters and plot are all pretty weak so far. For example, the teacher is a cookie cutter "hot female character drawn into a savage world against her will"-type of character. Her reactions, her personality, even her looks are straight out of a million other mangas. I mean, did she have to be a big-breasted hottie? For a touch of originality, couldn't a more mediocre girl have done the job? Or maybe one a little less helpless? Personally, I just can't bring myself to care about a character I've already seen a bunch of times before.

And that's a good way to summarize the plot so far: werewolf gets bullied. Of all the cool supernatural things the manga could've done, and they choose to take the easiest, we've-seen-it-all-before route. So in this manga the main character is a werewolf, choose any other random shonen and the superpowered character being ostracized at school is a shinto priest, or part cyborg, or pilots a gundam in his spare time. You get my drift.

I want to like this manga. I think it could have a lot of potential if the mangaka decides to forget about the stupid school gangs aspect and tries to be more original. I'm going to keep reading it for now in the hopes that it does evolve into something more, that what's going on now is just introductory stuff to draw readers in, but we'll have to see. (I'm sure someone will try to say the usual "it gets better as it goes along!" But that's not my concern. The question is: does it get more original?)

Oh this is great I didn't think people would actually post.

Alright so not to say I dislike the manga or anything, and the question of originality isn't a great topic as opposed to the plot. I've mentioned this a numerous amount of times and it is just that most stories do have a set in stone plot of some sort when it comes to this type of genre, So if anyone would hint to me what their opinion of this so called "plot" is, I'd be delighted.

The gang leader is Kisame...

I'm expecting just more random fighting with gangs, with guns and other weaponry, and other random stuff...
That lion was really random...so I'm thinking emphasis on the other random stuff

I'm not sure if I "like" this manga - it's a little too violent for my taste (not to mention the gratuitous boob shots...) - but I DO find it totally gripping.
As in, OMG new chapter out - must download and read right now!

I think that's because the plot twists are quite unpredictable (maybe I just haven't read enough warewolf manga) and, within the limits of a thriller/mystery type story, the characters are extremely well developed.
I think you have to like psychological thrillers to enjoy this tho...
BTW:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Anybody else think Haguro is some sort of were-lion?
EDIT: Gah! That was a really blatant hint in ch29 I just read...

EDit#2: My take on the plot.
Story about a teenage, intelligent, PACIFIST warewolf. Who is something of a showoff & has a real genius at attracting trouble. Told against a backdrop of mind-blowing violence, lovingly drawn in excruciating detail. A study in contradictions. Must read. smile

Very well put, I do understand the attraction of this manga and I am a constant reader, but the plot twists are what I would call unpredictable as chance may have it, this story is actually quite linear in my opinion.

Although I do love how you put a study of contradictions, ;D

Ch 31 Discussion.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I'm not entirely clear about this - but did Haguro turn off the life support before, or after Rat-bro goes into cardiac arrest?

I'm pretty sure it's after and that's what caused his cardiac arrest.

I am pretty sure that he turned the life support off, which caused the cardiac arrest.

@Orpheus
Yea, I think you're right. So Haguro caused it ....
This manga really has the potential to turn into an "everybody dies in the end" tragedy. I hope it doesn't though.

@Kaishe
Boss Battle! So true! laugh laugh
Strange, but I can't really call it a typical battle manga either.

I'm trying to like this manga for what it is, rather than what it's not. It's an ultra-violent, over-the-top guy fantasy action/supernatural story. Sure, it's not plot-heavy. Yes, much of it involves gratuitous nudity and violence. But this is how I see it in movie terms: it's more like a cool B movie than a mainstream Hollywood blockbuster. It's gripping, fast-paced and weird. There's some things that I'd rather were not included, but I can see why they're there. A good example:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
The teacher is nearly raped, and it's very graphic. This happened because Akira has this weird "misfortune aura" that causes bizarre and terrible things to happen to those around him. After all, the would-be rapist is eaten by a lion that escaped from a zoo transport before he gets a chance to do the deed. How weird is that? This story mechanic allows the author to do crazy things.

The teacher needs some sprucing up in the character development department, since it seemed like she was supposed to be a major character but isn't fleshed out enough. She's just a walking cliche at this point, and I'd like to see her become more of a person and less of a fan-service vehicle. I agree that I'd also like to see the Akira/teacher romance pick up speed. It's been thrown by the wayside while all the yakuza vs. Akira stuff happens.

On a side note, I've found that someone is running around giving most of the positive reviews of this manga extremely negative scores. I'm not certain as to why, but geez. If someone doesn't like the manga, that's fine. But why take the time to give fans bad scores?
