Hey ares!

We have a lot in common! My Father is a High School teacher. One of my Aunt is an Elementary School Principal, my Grandmother is an Elementary Substitute teacher(after retiring fas a teacher) and one other Aunt is a lunch lady in a JR. High

I can understand how you should respect elders and teachers (the fact of getting the education required to be a teacher is worthy of a great deal of respect). I used to start every school year with a full cup of respect for every teacher I had. But then the nature of humans makes my amount of respect for them diminish over time. I respect the profession of teaching, but when an individual abuses their position I have no repsect for that person. Sleeping with students, being a sadist, harassing kids, and being a general nut job?vNot cool.

And no offense with the thesis statement thing. I just meant that is was funny to seemingly contradict yourself like that.

Elementary school principal was fired for smoking weed at a principal's convention.
My middle school algebra teacher was the worst teacher I've ever had (stereotypical dumb blonde). I already knew algebra, but after that class, I had to relearn it... Anyway, I had her the first year she taught there, then the following year (when I was in 8th grade) she was promoted to some office job in the front. Then the year after that she was fired cus they found out she was having an affair with the Principal. (not sure what happened to him, though)
But my favorite was my High School calc/stats teacher. He was an amateur wrestler (the real kind) and a wrestling photographer on the weekends. Once, he was showing this kid who was on the wrestling team some moves, got him in a headlock, and spent the rest of the class lecturing with the kid in a headlock, easily countering every move the kid tried without even thinking about it. Another time, when the middle schooler were gonna come around to preview the high school, he pretended to do a math problem on the board, using all the space on all the whiteboards on all 4 walls in the room, then when he reached the end and asked his students (who were coached) for the answer, they all answered in unison "7!"
He also made cynical comments bout everything, and usually took the students' side when they complained about other teachers. He referred to the school administration as "Nazis," and once blamed the ash falling from the sky (from a nearby forest fire) on the Principal's convention in town.

My high school "Personal Finance" class was taught by the town mayor. I sure hope he was a better mayor than he was a teacher - not that he was awful, but he sure wasn't great. Used to sleep through all the filmstrips in that class...

A Social Studies teacher at the Jr. high suddenly vanished in the middle of the year, with no explanations given at all. I've always wondered what happened to him, I really enjoyed his class. sad Of course there were rumors that there was something going on between him & a student, but I have no idea if they were true or not.

HS Chem teacher once confused copper & carbon - talked about diamonds, soot, & charcoal (or something like that) being three forms of copper.

Jr. High Physical Science & French teacher had been an alternate for the Canadian Olympic track team, he was a great guy and an excellent teacher. I still hated physics, though.

HS Biology teacher taught by writing 100 questions (per chapter) on the boards. Monday: copy down questions. Tuesday - Thursday: read chapter & write down answers to questions. Friday: hand in questions and take test over the chapter. He sat at his desk reading the whole time. There was a little variation because of holidays, labs, etc. but that was the basic pattern for the whole semester.

In college I enrolled in some Econ class, can't remember which. Part of the course requirement was to form pairs and then each pair would teach one class period, because the Prof. was going to be involved in some big race or marathon or something (and wouldn't have time to do her job, I guess??). I dropped the class the next day, but heard later that it was AWFUL, the Prof. was stressed out and extremely harsh to everyone.

Dang, sooo many years in school and that's all I've got. no

hmm.... i had one awful math teacher till this year. now i simply dont have math..
all the teachers in my school like her and shes like "the best math teacher" for them, they always brag about how she is the only one who has all her students pass the finals. its a total bullshit tho.
with my class, she declared that most of us WONT pass the finals, and that we r the worst students she have ever seen... none of the students like her. we all despise her and from her nicknames you can find "hitler","bitch","satan, my invention "the math scum" and my seniors "f'(u)ck y'(a)f'(a)"....
she had something special against me...
up until 9th grade i loved math. i was good at math. head of my school in math. then i met her... at first, i was one of her fav's cuz my seat was at the front. i watched her tormenting everyone behind me, and knew i was the only survivor of her behavior... and then... i was moved to the back.
with my luck, it was near a guy who i could get along with perfectly... later we were called "the cutest couple" even tho we werent romantically involved...
buth that math teacher saw it as a betrayal from my side... as if i moved into the "bad kids" zone... she targeted me so much, that everyone in class noticed she was abusing me...she punished me on every single little slip.. she was harsh with test and homework... and she separeted me from my buddy cuz i was "bad influence"...
the interesting thing is, tht she always told me i didnt study in her class, and thats why i got bad grades.... but i simply couldnt study with such a teacher, and her methods were awful. every kid in class got a private teacher (and thats the only reason her students pass). but id like to see her face when shell see my finals results... even if ididnt study in her class, or didnt study at home, a week before the finals i reviewd some of my text books... at the pre finals i got a 90% score.. the finals shall be 100%...
guess no one told her that once i almost got in into a gifted children school. basically, i can study everything in less than a day. EVERYTHING. problem is- i dont study, its boring... biggrin

1) Ever had a teacher that thought you were after her? I had a teacher in middle school that was so paranoi. Every time a student would talk to her she would start screaming "Get away from me. I have no money" She really was a totally messed up teacher. She finally got sent to the hospital when she accused a boy of touching her in front of the class. All the poor kid did was ask her about the homework assignment. Crazy.
2) My physics teacher for senior year loved to talk about himself. It was one of those "Back in the day" thing. By the end of the school year I learn more about the four cars he had back in high school and his early twenties than physics. He was always talking like this "Then Newton's Third Law...snore..snore" He also would start yelling at us whenever we ask him to repeat something.
3) My gym teacher for 9th grade was a psychotic airhead. She was 70 pounds over weight but would go around telling skinny girls that they needed to go on a diet. She would tell them that eating too much cause bad personal issues and would try to give these 90-100 pound girls diet plans. Then she would smile and start doing aerobic moves on the floor trying to show them how it's done.
4) Then my 10th grade health teacher never talk about diseases or stuff. By the end of the trimester we learn all about her sex life. We knew who she lost it to and which two men pregnanted her two children. We also knew she loved sex and if she could she would have sex with every men alive. That made all the boys in the class sit in the back the whole tri.

I had a JH computer teacher who was like that. He looked like a stereotypical nerd. (if you ever played "Day of the Tentacle", he looks exactly like Bernard.) The class clown asked him if "that" his car was the brown Dodge parked outside the window. The kid then joked he had potatoes with him and said within ear shot of the teacher that he was going to see if they fit in his exhaust pipe. Well needless to say he was suspended for that. Well that wasn't the best example but there were other things that makes the teacher paranoid which I don't remember at the moment.

eek eek eek eek

If that kind of thing happened to one of my kids, that school would NEVER hear the end of it. Sure, it's a pain in the butt when kids speak up and assert themselves, but I'd rather deal with that than have kids who will blindly accept what's taught even when they know/feel it's wrong. That teacher shouldn't be allowed to be around kids. EVER.

I had a JH P.E. teacher who was overweight. She would make us do activities that she couldn't do and then grade them on how well we did them. It seemed a little unfair to me. none

yep. Years ago, gay only had one meaning.

"It was a gay and sunny day"

Now you have two:
"It was a gay and sunny day. A man, who's gay, walked out of a gay bar into his gay apartment with his gay friend."
