I looked and couldn't find an MTG thread so I thought I'd make one.

For all you Magic players on the forum:

1) Best card you've pulled.
2) Best MTG related thing to happen to you.
3) What you're currently running, post a deck list if you want.
4) Your favorite cards/combo.
5) Worst MTG mistake, in a game, trade, or draft.
And anything else you can think of to post.

1) Best card I pulled was a Jace, The Mind Sculptor.
2) Which leads to the best MTG moment: Pulling two Jaces from a single WWK fatpack.
3) I've been tinkering with a couple different ally decks:
BU Ally.
4) Have yet to pull it off, but using a kicked Rite of Replication on a Halimar Excavator, or playing a Warp World using an ally deck.
5) Reminding my opponent that the creature he was about to block had trample which caused him to switch to another attacker and kill me his next turn when I would have killed him otherwise, and this was during the World Wake Prerelease...

Best Card I have ever pulled was an invincible hymm, currently playing a life recovery deck with a few tweaks.

My best combo was having cradle of vitality out, playing invincible hymm, gaining about thirty life and then using cradle of vitality to make a knight of the meadowgrain a 32/32, then attacking with it, and since it has life link I gained another 32 life and turned it into a 64/64 creature.

It was worth a laugh.

WTF!? Two Jace, The Mind Sculptor! eek! I'm not worthy!!

The best card I've pulled was an Akroma (Timeshifted) I'm not a very lucky person

Currently i'm building a fun casual mill deck to play with my buds. The combo there is Bloodchief Ascension, Glimpse the Unthinkable/Archive Trap + Maralen of the Mornsong.

The thing is is that I had pulled a Jace the week before during the prerelease. Which means I'm one away from a playset. Needless to say, the people I play with now hate me.

magic died for me in 95-96
i dissliked how popular it became
and the art started to suffer = massproduction

i used a red deck as main
with 4mana flare as the main thing to power up all the fireball, disintegrate, earthquake things and power up my shivan dragons and dragon whelps

but i have not even touched a card since then
i know that the art is worse than ever lol but thats it
[a friend of mine was at some big tournament in hawaii 2k8 or if it was 2k9 i dragged him into playing so many years ago and now he is the big star...weird]

I am running a life recovery deck too and Cradle of Vitality is a great card to have for it. But I believe Invincible Hymn doesn't work like that. You do not gain the life, your life total becomes that of the number of cards left in your deck. So you are not really gaining life which means the Cradle won't work.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a smart ass but I have been chewed alot with my Cradle. Unless the card says you gain that life then the Cradle works, if not then the Cradle won't. By the way my combo was Cradle of Vitality+Celestial Mantle. But due to Celestial saying double not gain the Cradle didn't work.

If the number of cards in his library is greater than his current life, he gains the difference, whereas if it was less than his current total then he would lose the difference. Just cause the card doesn't actually say gain doesn't mean you don't gain life.

I don't play it for 9 or 10 years, I think.
I had a 5th edition deck and an Urza's saga deck, and some other random cards mainly from 7th edition

5. screw up my land composition during a draft

I started from Lorwyn and then retired after Conflux for a while due to my research project and just started again at Worldwake.

Even though I started at Lorwyn, the first booster I bought was from Future Sight and I got TARMOGOYF. I was a total noob at that time. I don't understand why people who saw me pulled that card offered me a ridiculous amount of money for that piece of card! laugh I've also pulled 2 Garruks, 2 Mutavaults, 3 Chameleon Colossuss, 1 Lotus Cobra, and 1 Jace the Mind Sculptor. I've also been given a nickname 'The Landman' recently due the fact at the Worldwake Prerelease I've pulled 12 Manlands and 6 Fetchlands! bigrazz

I've started and quit M:TG at least two, maybe 3 or 4 times in my life. Wish I could play it again. Maybe someday...

1) Hell if I remember. I might have gotten a shiny Masticore. Scratch that. I think it was a shiny Dustbowl.
2) Took a local (Type-2?) tournament against one of the better players from my area running that Yawgmoth's Will deck from years back. Won it with the land destruction deck of that time. That land destruction deck might have been something similar to this but maybe a year or two back or forward.THIS
3) Last one I ran was that land destruction deck I loved so much.
4) Hell if I remember.
5) Hell if I remember.

**** just thinking about it makes me want to play again. Shit costs too much. I remember spending a lot of money on boxes of cards.

heh Yawgmoth's Will deck which one Black Control or Sabre Bargain biggrin, I used to play it too during it prime. That card is totally broken when combined with Yawgmoth's Bargain, once it set up you can kill opponent in a turn, because you can draw as much as your life, soul feast (suck 4 life), and use yawgmoth to play all of your graveyard, skirge familiar for unlimited mana, but it will have a hard time against a blue control deck.

red land destroyer werent use so much because most blue type deck always bring Chill(red spell cost 2 more) in their sideboards, I played LD for fun but I wont consider bring it in a tourney.

I have like 9 Masticores in my collection album, at that time like every ppl think that masticore belongs to any deck. They will even put it in green beatdown (stompy) deck, what a waste.
laugh

1) I don't think I have "best card" that i have pulled, seeing as how every game is different and the situations aren't always the same.
2) Well, the best thing I can remember happened recently (that's probly why I remember, lulz). I won on turn 4 with 2 Thunderblusts out. It was pretty lucky cuz I only have 2 in that deck, haha.
3)I have a Sliver deck, Elemental Deck, a weird control deck having to do with counters and counterspells, and a Vampire deck that is standard legal.
4)Right now, it would probably be a Flamekin Harbinger + Incandescent Soulstoke + Nova Chaser
5)I could've gotten Sorin in a draft, but i chose not to, like an idiot.
