No, I don't like swimming in urine. Not mine, not someone else's

I did it a few time before back in elementary school, Though to be perfectly honest from time to time(rarely) I tend to leak(not peeing a stream) a little in the pool.

Yea. When I as younger, like 8ish. I figured the chlorine would get rid of all the nasty stuff in it so it's not like others were swimming in it.

Same.
The funny thing is that people tend to forget that urine is usually one of the most clean of bodily fluids (because it's already filtered), and yes, the chlorine will take care of it (unless there's so much that it overpowers the chlorine, as can happen in kiddie pools). It's just the stigma of that particular bodily fluid.

Germaphobes amuse me. Kids used to get scraped and eat dirt all the time. It never killed us, and truth be told, probably made us stronger. wink Now, heaven forbid we get germs on our hands from using a shopping cart that someone else pushed, so better use a wipe to clean it first.

Not that I can remember. ;] Though I think I've prolly done it when I was younger.
I just avoid pools in general. But I guess that might also be because I can't swim.

Gross. ._. No, I haven't. I have peed in the ocean, but that's because the bathroom was a mile away and I couldn't hold it anymore.

I've seen people go into a pool after having chicken eggs cracked on them, though. Just as gross. cry

Yup. As far as other people's piss, well, urine is sterile. The oils and such from skin aren't. I'm more disgusted by a stinky dude jumping in a pool as opposed to a pissing kid.

That is a misconception. The main purpose of the bladder it to filter out dead cells, poison, bad chemicals from your body, that's why alcoholic have kidney problems. Anyway, the urine is basically made of ammonia and the worst things expelled by your kidney. Feces is just fiber and undigested material with water. Feces does contain bacteria as they are present in the intestine track.

I would think twice before drinking urine, thinking it was sterile.

By definition, urine is sterile. It contains no other lifeforms in it unless one has an urinary tract or a kidney infection. Once it reaches the outside world, however, it can come into contact with bacteria, such as coming to contact with bacteria from the genitalia.

But if you're in a pool with chlorine that kills bacteria, then the urine will more than likely stay sterile.

I used to back when I was a kid. Haven't gone to the pool since elementary school but if I do, I'll keep in mind your complaints and hold it until I get to the toilet. biggrin
