Uh huh. So if the guy was arrested because his order of Love Hina books had naked children in lewd positions, would you say the same thing?

The new law in the Philippines is pretty bad as well...I mean, they're even getting our ISP's checking in on us. The fine for simple possession goes up to $20,000 + Jail time.

Quote from R.A. 9775
For the purpose of this Act, a child shall also refer to:

A person regardless of age who is presented, depicted or portrayed as a child as defined herein; and Computer-generated, digitally or manually crafted images or graphics of a person who is represented or who is made to appear to be a child as defined herein.

"Child pornography" refers to any representation, whether visual, audio, or written combination thereof, by electronic, mechanical, digital, optical, magnetic or any other means, of child engaged or involved in real or simulated explicit sexual activities.

Age no longer matters, as long as it looks like a kid, it is a kid.

I'm with you drunkguy.

Way to judge someone, pokeslob.

I'm really not happy about how this case turned out...or the whole Lolicon ban for the matter.

I mean... FFS, when lolicons and hentai-otaku get overexcited about what they like, it's okay when people say "they're just drawings!" , but when the aforementioned gets prosecuted and use the "just drawings" card, it's not? Bullshit much?

Yeah, I read about that, mate. It must hurt...
If that happened here, I'm seriously movin' away >= (

the difference is that the nude minors in Love Hina aren't having sex with each other or getting raped by adults. that kind of stuff is nasty and can lead to a dangerous downward path to worse things.

all of you can say "they're just drawings"... but the fact is once thats not enough they will get harder core stuff, once that is not enough they will get real pictures. That's is how all addicts work...
and someone I know was a victim of rape as a child, and his/her family is in ruins right now with medical/therapy bills, and instability from resurfacing memories. His/her brain was shattered into many pieces

"The aim of art is to project an inner vision into the world, to state in aesthetic creation the deepest psychic and personal experiences of a human being. It is to enable those experiences to be intelligible and generally recognized within the total framework of an ideal world" -Bruce Lee, "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do"

pretty much, an artist puts his/her inner most desires onto paper.
those who draw and those who read lolicon, have an inner desire for child pornography, or underaged sex/rape

and you can say your not an addict, then stop, these kinds of things are frowned at by most of the real world anyway!
seriously, get a real girlfriend and stop looking at hentai!

It's times like this that I really love living in the Netherlands.
A country where a drawing, no matter how obscene, is never considered pornography.
So I can look at all the loli hentai I want without fear of being arrested or some shit.
Not that I enjoy lolis though.

Jailing someone for getting sexually excited over drawings is just sad.
If he were to ever really try to get his hands on a little girl, that would be different matter.
That's the thing I hate about my country though, even child rapists get off with around a 10 year sentence at best.
And in jail they get seperated from the general population, because otherwise they'd get beaten to death in 5 minutes. So even hardcore criminals don't take kindly on child raping, funny.

Now now, remember, we live in the Philippines yes? Do you think They'd even waste the resources for that and just go ahead and produce another act. Besides, I'm pretty sure that's just a paper tiger, like the government even has the budget. Viva Jamby Madrigal! 8D

I know that...just putting it out there...besides, you never know...people might randomly decide to pursue this during times like christmas for the *cough*"extracash"*cough* like they do with Internet Cafes. Or in times like right now when politicians need to look good...why else do you think this act was written in the first place. laugh

Yeah, a person that rapes a child is just sick, you aren't robing something material, you are destroying the childhood of a kid, and pretty much ruining their "early" life... and that is only if they can move on...

Sometimes women get raped by their own stupidity, and in those cases, I feel can feel anything but pity... on the other hand kids don't know the dark world around them, HECK they aren't supposed to know... and when a bastard uses that innocence to approach them, well that is not well seen by any human being...

That is why no matter the crime they have committed (for the most part), they are still human.

NOW this is not child porn, this is an sketch, a drawing... you can tell a person that those drawings are sick and they should burn them, but that doesn't mean you can throw them in jail and fine them.

Maybe they thought he would eventually commit that crime.
Although throwing someone in jail because they think someone if going to commit a crime is rather harsh.

Also this is further proof if you ever needed it Kodomo no Jikan is never coming to america if you were caught with that you could be put in jail because people don't understand that it actually has a story in it.

Copypasta for the win.

Quote from Dr. Love
Quote from aneste
it is a precaution. they want to be sure that he won't turn out to be a child molester.

Then we might as well lock up all the kids who steal a couple of candies from the candy store, since they might rob banks later on...

roll There goes half of the population.

Precaution is BS. They first have to deal with offenders that actually committed a crime. They're not Gods, they don't know what a person will do, how events will flow. Yes, he might turn into a child molester, but there's an equal chance that he won't and would just continue to indulge into his fantasies. Most people can keep fantasy and reality apart, or else 50% of the MU members would've already committed a murder/attempting some impossible skill (i.e. flying).

Also, this gets locked, since we don't need a new thread
for each individual case that deals with the same subject.
