i got a couple of friends who will never watch anything foreign with subtitles. To put it simply if they are not speaking English they won't even consider it.
Do you have the same views??

o.O; I watch Anime and I tend to listen to a lot of Korean music.
I occasionally watch foreign movies, too.

So. People like that are just close-minded or need to read more.

Foreign things can open you up to a lot of new ideas.
I don't understand why someone would reject it especially
when they're given the chance to understand it in their language.

Yeah I've watched foreign movies before.

I've even watched it the otherway around. So watching an English movie but having Greek subtitles.

I don't mind at all. I mean, a movie is a movie. I don't care what language it's in, as long as I can understand whats going on it's ok.

Music too. I listen to foreign music. Ok I might not fully understand the song, but I like the beat laugh

I'm a huge fan of anything foreign and give all movies and music and books of any language, on any culture, nationality, whatever I'd give it a try, sometimes I find foreign media much more intriguing or even intelligent compared to english-language only media, and yeah people are close-minded if they can't stick subtitles, I find subtitles are like reading a book without too much effort put into it and I've never understood why subtitles are so hard to handle, for instance my sister puts subtitles on even if it's english just so she doesn't miss a word of dialogue whereas if I suggest watching a film in another language with english subs she gets angry at me and goes 'i can't be bothered' confused

For foreign movies, I consider Asian movies (do dramas also count?) on par or better than movies in English.

For foreign music...I love my K-pop, that's all there is to it. I'm open to both songs in English and foreign languages though.

Movies and music on english are foreign for me. I watch that movies and listen music all the time. I also have no problem in watching movies from any country and on any language whatsoever.Though I don't listen to music if I don't understand the lyrics. I really prefer subbing over dubbing cause it let you hear actual voices of the actors, which let's you feel emotions more realistically. Dubbing is for children who still can't read. Luckily in my country movies are subbed but many other countries dub foreign movies.

Always. none

A lot of anime and manga fans listen to a lot of J-music and watch J-Movies and J-Dramas.

Though personally, I watch and listen to everything. Japanese music, Korean music, Taiwanese music, etc. I almost got into Thai music a few months ago too. XD

I will watch films and listen to music from any part of the globe. Why confine yourself to one particular culture?

Always. I don't like putting restrictions to what I can see or watch.
Even if I can't understand it.

Yeah, I watch foreign films occasionally.
I think my favorite one to date is He Loves Me... He Loves Me Not.

Hmmm.... I mean, I agree with most people here; I don't really care what language a movie's in as long as it's a good movie and I have subtitles, and for music I listen to various kinds... But putting such a question in a Manga forum is rather... inappropriate.
I mean, obviously people in this forum are gonna be open to other cultures and listen to music or watch movies from different cultures: that's what most of this site is about, it's the spirit of this community!
So if you want a really representative answer, you should go and ask somewhere else, tbh.

I too have friends who refuse to listen or watch anything in another language. It saddens me somewhat. But I don't mind. I still haven't found someone who isn't wapanese (and overly hyperactive) who listens to foreign music and cares not only about the words, but the music itself. Sad times.

I think I watch more foreign films than I should. I sort of prefer them actually. They seem to have a certain quality to them that I like - not all, but most of the ones I tend to watch. Two of my favorite directors are Ingmar Bergman and Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Not so much with music though.

It angers me to no end when people bitch about a movie being foreign. Heaven forbid they have to exercise their brain by reading subtitles. roll

If I deltede all my non-english speaking music I think my playlist would half, lol. Some of my favourite films aren;t in English either. I don;t actively seek out non-english speaking music/films but I certainly don't discriminate. I have friends who do though, they say they can't wacth and read at the same time.
