Mario Kaneda, the creator of the Girls Bravo manga and anime, has launched a new manga titled Hamidoru! in this year's 12th issue of Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine on Thursday. The story follows Mush-Room, a hapless idol group formed by Kasumi, Akari, and Suzuno. Mush-Room has been at the bottom of the heap in the unforgiving world of Japanese entertainment, but the three girls still strive to be hit singers.
This is Kaneda's first manga in the magazine, after she created Girls Bravo and Death/Communication in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shonen Ace magazine. Ei Aoki and AIC Spirits adapted Girls Bravo into a 24-episode anime series that ran in 2004 and 2005. Tokyopop published the Girls Bravo manga in North America, and Geneon Entertainment (USA) released the anime version.
