Please post bugs/suggestions you have with the new Categories feature here.

Not exactly a bug to report...but are those the only categories available atm? Edit~ Nevermind, just saw the news post...>_<

Suggestion: This might just be my browser (FF) or maybe just me .__. but the text under categories is a bit too big. This may only be a problem for series with lots of categories though.

It should only display the top 6 categories. Any more, and there's a button called "More"

GREAT JOB! This could be the base line for user recommendations and to let people vote witch ones are best a like. Current recommendations dont know how they work ^^u

Also to tag with genres that are currently not available

Edit: They also get bigger (or smaller) depending on how many votes they have ... I might have to tweak that in the next few days...

btw what kind of name should be given to the category that has
age difference between a girl and guy ?

by this i mean if the girl is older then the guy in this case im talking about
these 2 titles....

Ohh, okay. Makes sense if it changes depending on votes, it's actually better that way.

@lil_kitty15: I don't think you should try to categorize something like that. XD I think maybe "taboo" or "forbidden love" would fit for it though, but that depends on how big the age gap is. And taboo seems like too big of a generlization.

Awesome feature, but I'll have to admit, it is quite ambitious given the sheer amount of manga out there. I've been adding tags to whatever titles pop in my mind, but I'll admit it's a bit tedious. Here are some things I noticed that could be improved to make things easier.

I'm not sure if this is just me, or the database in general, but whenever I click the "Update Series" button after adding a tag, I get a warning saying: "Error, the server seems to be down at the moment. Check your connection or please wait until the server comes back up. Sorry" with the option to press OK. However, my internet connection is perfectly fine and the tag gets added anyway. I'm not sure why it keeps popping up but hope it's fixed soon.

As the system works now, we can only add categories to the series by pulling up the series page first and then adding the category. This takes a bit of time since we have to go through the search function (which in itself is a few clicks away). Instead, I would like the ability to add series to categories directly on the category page. Is there anyway to allow this?

Also, I think it would be a good idea to have a function to automatically add all sequels of a title to the same categories as the first one belongs. I know not all sequels are directly connected and may or may not contain the same categories, but chances are that they will and it would save time if we could "mass-add" a category to a series and all it's sequels/spinoffs.

I also noticed that the categories are randomly capitalized... Some capitalize the first letter, some don't at all, and some capitalize the first letter of each word... Shouldn't we standardize this somehow?

And a question: What if a tag concerns only a short story withing a larger body of work, yet is completely unrelated to the main story? Should we add the tag then, or should tagging be reserved for only the main story? What about volumes of short stories (which are quite common in shoujo)? The example I was thinking of is the short story "Amai Koibito" which deals with vampires and child care and is located withing the manga "Yoroshiku Master", which is more of a servant-master relationship category.

With that said, I'll return to tagging...

EDIT: By the way, wouldn't it be more convenient when someone adds a new tag, they also have to fill in a description box? No matter how obvious the tag is, just to be on the safe side and get rid of ambiguity, because they aren't all that clear.

appear? Since I've been waiting for over an hour. ;-;

completely skipping the "add" step. *sigh* Okay, everything's working.

Is it possible to have a "hide" or "show" thing for the category section in the near future? Some of these categories kinda give away the plot (i.e, kidnapping, teen pregnancy, reincarnation, etc). You can't really unseen that section when it's right below the genres, so ya...XD;;
